All the kids have grown up and gone and it was time to downsize and make \”kitchen\” tasks easy and equipment readily available. We didn\’t want to go into the expense of cabinet and counter renovation at this point in our lives so we simply removed the standard cabinets and painted the walls. We constructed the shelves because It was important for me to keep it aesthetically satisfying yet easier to clean and reach daily items. Each item,ss from the dinner plates, bowls and coffee cups as well as the red cranberry jelly jars, coffee cannister and butter dish on the shelf above the \”coffee workstation\” unit were purchased at Home Goods in Somers. The large dishes on the bottom shelf add color and used only occasionall. I call it my kitchen at a glance. It\’s amazing how beautifully satisfying, easily maintaianed, and within easy reach we can make our surroundings with just the right touches, I think the redecorating cost less than $500.00 with the wonderful finds at Home Goods.
