I saw this sign in HomeGoods. It got me thinking. Our Homes are a big part of our families lives and memories. It would be great, since we have this forum, to talk about what our homes mean to us. How we like to live. What makes our home a great place to come home to. What we like best about our homes. Anything that makes home meaningful to you. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
1. Cathy,
This is a subject I’m sure we will come back to often in our blog. I agree whole heartedly, your home is a story. It reads in many ways. In treasures you collect in your travels , to the silhouette of your child framed from kindergarten. It makes your house , your home. Home is where your story begins… I believe that.

2. Cathy,
I guess at this point of my life, I feel so blessed. I love my home! I have a tremendous family and great friends. However, I don’t do as much entertaining as many of my friends that are married and therefore, I don’t share my home with as many people. When I have company, I love to prepare for them. I love to have great times where we can have meaningful conversations.
To share a really interesting point, my neighbor was one of the nicest people in the world. After 20 years, for the first time, he started decorating his home. He spent a fortune getting things the way he wanted. Being Irish, he wanted to have a nice event for St. Patricks Day, or Easter. He had started purchasing all kinds of things to make certain that it would be a huge success. His son had been with his girlfriend for a few days and came home on Wednesday and found his father dead. It is felt that his heart stopped. Some other neighbors said that his entire system shut down.
This was one of the nicest persons anyone could know. We know that tomorrow is not promised and nothing is guaranteed.
Well, the essence of it all is that we can take nothing for granted. We must all enjoy today as if tomorrow will not be here. Helen Keller once said, “use your eyes today as if tomorrow you will not see.”
Kindness is very important to me. People who care and don’t mind sharing their laughter, are always those that you don’t mind spending time with. I often say that “everyday is a day of thanksgiving.”

3. Your thoughts were very heartwarming to read. All of you ladies are truly wonderful. I can hear it in your words and see it in your homes. We are blessed everyday to enjoy our families and friends. Our homes are our sanctuaries where we embrace the people we love and feel the warmth and security our homes provide. Home is truly where the heart is!
