Going into HomeGoods for my “Sight Rejuvenation,” I found this beautiful piece of art that happened to be a wonderful piece of history. I learned that it was the result of a volcanic erruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991. It was indicated that it was the biggest erruption in 500 years and that the winds dispersed remains as far away as Russia and North America. This piece of art was made from the stone and ash by the people misplaced and effected by the erruption in the Philippines. It’s the story behind the art that is far more meaningful. This was so inexpensive and it resides in my dining room.
The lovely lady in front of the volcanic art is a fine piece that I found at the same time. I wanted the lady – with small fine stones- to be in front of the volcanic piece. It’s small enough not to take away, while adding to the story. What do you think?¼/p>
1. Betty, What an interesting story, and a unique piece of art.
Its amazing what you can find for not a lot of money and display it nicely. The fiqurine adds to the story as well.
