On walks around my neighborhood I love to see what people hang on their doors. Some are cute whimsical door hangings, others are beautiful floral wreaths. It makes a home feel so welcoming, (happy people must live here.) I change mine with the seasons and its nice to come home to a cheerful welcome. I think the door looks a little empty without something on it. I’d love to hear how you decorate your doors. Any new ideas?

1. Cathy,

Your door decor is lovely! It says “Welcome to Spring.”

2. Cathy, you are so good at placing light-colored objects against dark backgrounds. The dark door in this photograph beautifully showcases the flowers. I also like the shape and direction of your floral arrangement — a bouquet that sprays up and out gracefully. Can you tell me if the arrangement is held by a container? It’s hard to see in the picture. Thanks!

3. Kathi, (good name), I like to contrast colors and textures in decorating. Its a principle of design I incorporate a lot. You’ve got a good “eye” to notice things like that. The flowers are in a heavy black wire “half” basket. Seems to anchor them better on the door. Thanks for writing in.
Hope to talk to you again.
