..while showing property the other day, I ran across one of those great ideas that I thought you might find helpful as well. In a model home, the designer had taken a large map and cut it into 3 pieces, framed and hung over a sofa…an inexpensive way to get a great look…

LOVE IT Do you LOVE IT?

1. Great idea! It make it more interesting than one large one. Cute room.

2. Alli,

I really loved that idea with the maps in the frames, my husband since he was younger loved looking at maps and I may do this when I start my bedroom over. I know it will bring memories back to him. As a child he had one over his slanted ceiling in his bedroom and use to look at it all the time. Thank you for the idea.

4. Dear Alli, It must be fun to get to see all of the interiors of the homes you list and sell for people…this room is darling and a great idea too..I actually have some old maps of the town we live in in Western New York..perhaps I should dig them out and frame them..Thanks for sharing the idea…Margie

5. Margie,
You are so welcome….you should definitely get out the maps! They really look nice framed, and the frames can be inexpensive. We seem to like all the same things, you know what they say about “great minds”.
Thanks for you kind comments and keep decorating!

6. Looks great! I suggest that you take your paint color all the way up the wall so that the ceiling appears higher.

8. Does HomeGoods have any intentions of having a “Shop-online” site?
I really love this store, but can’t always get out to get to the store. An online site would be most welcomed, not only by myself, but also by others who are handicapped.

Thanks!

10. Great idea, I love seeing what other people have in mind for creating inexpensive art work that looks wonderful! When I was in the store the other day, I found some lovely Monet and VanGogh note cards in pretty little boxes. I plan on using the cards not only for writing, but also to frame, since they are postcard size, surrounded by a simple, white mat, it will make a lovely work of art!
