In search of a cabinet for a client, I made my trip to HomeGoods today and saw this beautiful armoire. I could not believe the intricate detail in the design and you could actually touch each stroke by the artistic brush on the flowers, the leaves and the full decoration. The crown molding is absolutely gorgeous! Talking to a woman standing beside me, she screamed because her sister had recently purchased an identical armoire and she took the time to call her to determine if it was the same manufacturer. She had indicated that she knew for a fact that her sister paid more then what was priced. After talking to her sister, she said that her sister paid five times more than the cost at HomeGoods. The price at HomeGoods was less then $1,000.00. I love the Columbia store in Maryland. The beauty of the merchandise is always before you. If you are in the area, check it out. Tell us what you think.
1. I was in search of the perfect french style armoire. Although I had found lovely armoires in catalogs & websites over the years they were not affordable. I put my “dream armoire” on my wish list & believed that someday it would cross my path.
Because my work takes me to Venice, FL twice a month I reward myself with a trip to the Home Goods store there never knowing what wonderful things may be waiting. It was a great day when I walked into the store & ’sensed’ that I should start in the furniture department. Standing there, as if waiting for me, was the most magnificent hand carved armoire. It has all the ‘high end’ details I was looking for and cost me under $800!
My beautiful armoire is a new family heriloom that we will treasure for years to come.

2. Hi Laurie,
Congratulations Laurie! I know that the armoire that you purchased is gorgeous! You are right, it can and does become a family heirloom. I am so happy that you were able to purchase something that you love so much. I know that if I had room for this one, I would have purchased it myself. There is nothing more satisfying then when you feel that you made a purchase and you got the better of the deal.
Send us a picture and let us see your treasure. We would enjoy sharing.

4. I agree with you about the store in Columbia, Maryland. There is a Home Goods store in my hometown of Olney, Maryland, yet I find that the clearance prices are not the same as at some of the other stores and that the Columbia store is merchandised well. The isles are wider and more consumer friendly and the managers who have been there for all long time are much friendlier and truely love their store .

5. Hi Margie,
The one thing that we all know about the wonderful merchandise at HomeGoods is that if you don’t buy it when you see it, you just might miss out. After seeing the armoire that morning, it was gone by the afternoon. The beauty, quality and the nominal prices are the absolute winners for the buyer. Whoever purchased it had a gorgeous piece of furniture to grace their home.
Keep in touch!

6. Hi Dreama,
You are so right! All of the HomeGoods stores are great, but there is something special about the Columbia store and the people who work there. However, I should ask you, “What did we do before there was a HomeGoods? (Smile) This question only means that we are all loving our shopping experiences that have become therapeutic and loads of fun.
We look forward to hearing from you again. Let us see what you have purchased lately. Take a picture an put it on the post.

7. Thank you for answering my post. I just was so happy to find this blog and even happier when I saw that you were from the Maryland area. I have recently found many new treasures and will post some pictures soon. I am currently working on a “girls” party for a friend who is trurning 50. I will try to post pictures of the party displays since many of the items I am using are from Home Goods.
