We had some very good friends over for dinner last night, to celebrate a birthday. I love to entertain, but cooking is not my forte’. Luckily my husband is a “grill-master” so I know the main dish will be great! I have over the years, worked on one single dessert….cheesecake. I have practiced so many times that I am pretty confident now that it will be OK. It is just your basic cheesecake….not very exciting for a birthday. I had to run to HomeGoods for some candles, and I ran across this wonderful “dessert squeeze”. It was wonderful!! I chose the 2 cherry version….
they also had a coconut/lime as well as a vanilla. It was the perfect “dress-up” for the cake. I added a few raspberries and it was a huge success. Plus it looked very pretty on the plate. The bottle was $3.99, and other suggestions on the lable, called for using the “squeeze” on ice cream, fresh fruit, or pound cake!!! All great ideas! I will keep a bottle on hand now, and I may try the other flavors as well. HomeGoods saves the day once more!

1. Looks delicious Alli, I didn’t know HomeGoods sold those great toppings?
Looks like a fancy restaurant that you’d pay $10., or more, a slice for. I’m glad you know how to make the most important part of the meal…the dessert!!!

2. Thanks Cathy…you know my motto “life’s short, eat dessert first!” hahah. You just never know what you might find at HomeGoods. The “squeeze” was delicious and did make the cake look more “special”
Have a wonderful weekend!

5. Hi Alli,

As much as I don’t need any desserts, this sure looks wonderful and delicious! it looks exactly like a dessert that I ordered on Saturday. Just imagine the difference in the cost. It’s this kind of look the makes your company think that you have labored all day to come up with these great results.

9. Hi Alli,

There are comments under my post entitled Party Fun from LoLo that should be coming to you. She is anticipating a response regarding the candle holders that she asked you about.

Have great days!

10. My mom didn’t really teach me how to cook, but she did teach me the food presentation is critical. Never present a plate of food that is all the same color, and always add a little “something something” to make it special. I’m going to get some of that “something something” today! Thanks for the tip!
