as promised, more posts. This is going to be short, because I am on my way to Michael’s to get my paint for my wall color! Cathy had a fabulous tip, and I am going to try it TODAY!
OK, so far the entry way…the townhome is tri-level (love those steps…not) When you enter the front door, you can go down to the “flex room” (I am calling this the “man-cave”)and garage, or up; to the dining room, family room, kitchen….we are going up first. I found the prints of clocks, where else but HomeGoods. I like how this turned out so far….still a work in progress. Stay tuned….

3. Alli,
I love this display on your landing. The simplicity is refreshing! Great pictures from HomeGoods. I hope you got some paint to make your sample boards. I can see some nice color in there. Take your time and enjoy the decorating process. Its therapeutic…

6. Thanks Cathy….
yes. I am working on the perfect shade of deep blue for the family room…
I am glad you like the grouping in the foyer, I used your tip on hanging a group of pictures, it sure saved a lot of nail holes….
What do you think of “striping” this one wall behind the clock prints?? I had envisioned using just a shade darker of the “linen white” and in a “egg shell” finish as opposed to the flat. What do you think???
let me know……

7. Alli, Strange..I think we have very similar tastes..I too asked Cathy about stripping a wall in my greatroom in Florida…she gave me some great ideas…also, check out the August issue of Better Homes and Gardens page 50..they show a great room done with that effect..they used 24 inch stripes..I would probably use smaller ones but I love the look…have fun decorating and show all of us pictures…Margie

9. Thanks Margie.
I will get a copy of that magazine tomorrow…..I think I want to use smaller stripes too. Do you think the stripes should be darker or lighter?? I am going to use an “egg-shell finish” on the stripes……I have used the “blue painters tape” before, and it works GREAT!!!!
Good luck on your family room….Are you still planning on going to Florida in October??? Don’t forget to take pictures……
Always great hearing from you Margie!
Take care.

10. Hi Alli, Most of the rooms I have seen show the stripes darker..but I think it could work well either way….Our plan is to go to Florida in October..so I hope to be there about Oct 10th…I miss my new house…and of course the beach too. I agree the smaller stripes probably are the way to go..Best of luck..can’t wait to see your pictures..Margie

12. Love those clock pictures. I have never been to a Home Goods store. Can you tell me approx how much your clock artwork was? I would like to have a general idea of prices before I make the journey there (as it is 2 hours from me)
Thanks!

13. Hi,
A trip to HomeGoods, even 2 hours would well be well worth your time…
The quality is outstanding and the prices even better…
The clock prints were $24.99 each….can you believe that??? The frame itself is worth that cost.
Head to HG and load up! Good luck and Happy Shopping!
