A lovely table is what we desire to bring life and beauty to a room.  On many occasions the central focus on the table is often a floral arrangement or some simplified/but lovely arrangement that highlights the colors in the room, or just the room itself.  In some situations the central focus on the table can be a piece of sculpture, candles,  a vase with sea shells, a spray, a topiary, curly willows, eucalyptus, natural lagurus, etc.

A kitchen Table Dressing:

This Table Dressing is very simplisitic and the central focus is candles and holders.  The brandy sniffer is the middle container with clear sparkling gems, and color fill with other clear decor marbles.   The purpose for this arrangement in the brandy sniffer is to lift the candle over the rim of the glass so that the beauty of the stones will be be evident and to provide the safety for the burning candle.  The essence of the oak table is highlighted without a table cloth or table runner.  One might prefer covering for the table, but at this time the bare table has it’s rewards.

The dining room table displays two square vases - each  with a single  bouquet of white flowers, accompanied by two large and bold crystal candle holders.   The bareness of the table is enchanting; however, for special occasions or dinner parties you might prefer a table runner or a table cloth- adding protection for the table and beauty.

At this time the dining room table, covered by the table cloth, changes the Table Dressing.  Once the Table Dressing that you desire is in place, then you can provide the tableware of interest to you and your family that would compliment the occasion.  The candle holders, the brandy sniffer, the vases with the flowers, the candles - all were purchased from HomeGoods.  The cost was minimal! The quality is great!  The results are  major in the decoration of the rooms!

3. What a lovely dining room to behold, but, is table cloth still fashionable, i.e, in use? If i want to go for something like that, like how much will it cost? It’s so awesome, you know i’m in love with the third dining room.

7. Hi Omolara,

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments! Yes! The tablecloth is still a very intimate part of the dinner table and/or breakfast table. So many times, today, people choose to use table runners and place mats. However, the tablecloth is still very much in demand. This tablecloth cost approximately $20.00. This is a long table so the tablecloth was a great value for the quality and minimal cost. I purchased this tablecloth at Marshalls more than two years ago. They always have great buys!

I am so pleased that you liked the arrangement! Let us hear from you again.

10. I love coming up with new displays for my tables. My favorite for the summer is on my kitchen table. I have a large resin shell filled with sand and three large candles and seashells in it. Fall will bring something completely different and I can’t wait! I am not looking forward to the end of summer, but I LOVE the colors of fall! Time to shop!

11. Hi Cathy,

Your comments are always inspiring! Yes! I am one of those persons who takes the picture of candles without lighting them. I should have, but when I thought of it originally, the fumes from the work in my home made me say “no.” Then I meant to do it when the workers were not here working, and I forgot. Thanks for reminding me and others the right thing to do.

Your comments are always appreciated.

13. Hi Betty,

All of the table dressings are very nice. However, I prefer the dining room table that has the tablecloth. It gives it elegance and is very inviting. Candles are one of my favorite table decorations so of course I like them all. Keep the ideas coming. They are all very informative and very helpful. Thank you. Shirley

14. Hi Shirley [...],

You are so kind! I too prefer the the “Table Dressing” with the tablecloth. However, I also love looking at the natural wood and highlighting the beauty of that. With the tablecloth covering the naked table, the beauty of the wood is lost. After a celebrative event and the tablecloth is removed, I am very happy to see the natural wood again. But, as I said before, I too love the elegance of the tablecloth.

16. Hi Betty,

I am a man that would see the tablecloth as a girly setup, but I really like the way this looks. I get great ideas from this site. Thanks for sharing your ideas with me.
