Hi Everyone,
The long awaited house is now setting on our lot. Include are few photos of what it looks like to put up a custom modular home. First picture was taken at 8:30 AM house was completed at 5:00 PM, it was amazing to see. This is the beginning of a bloggers journal, which I call making a house a home. I’m giving you an open invitation to share with me your comments and suggestions, even recipes for the celebration when it finished. You will see that not only did I enjoy reading every comment on paint colors submitted for one of the guest rooms, you were a big influence in the finished decor. Let’s begin!

How long to get all the interior installed, or is it all assembled as well? When will you be able to move in? This is so wonderful for you and your family. All the best to you all. Can’t wait to see all the progress and decorating you’ll be doing. Keep us all POSTED.
Bless you all,

6. Hi All,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your best wishes. To answer your question Cathy, the only two rooms that others are doing are my kitchen and master bath. All other rooms are finished except for floors like wood, tile, or carpet. This week the carpenters have put the front and rear balconies in, buiding the front proch and steps out the back french doors, as I won’t get to the patio or landscaping till the sring or fall.

Waiting for the plumber to connect all the piping. The electrian has to tie all the wiring to the ciruit panels. The modular builders run all wiring and piping in the house, we needed to have them connect to the sewer and water lines and the wiring to the panel then to the pole. It won’t be long till we are painting and flooring.

Miss you and happy that you are all doing well. Can’t wait to see what we can share with our first holidays coming up. Regards, Janice

7. Hi Janice, How exciting! We just built a home and have been in it for almost two months. Lets just say Homegoods decorated most of our home. Most people have come in and asked where I have gotten alot of things but what is so nice is they have so much and get so much that what you have still looks like one of a kind! This is so fun to look at your photos. I have just been watching and reading about modular homes and it is so interesting. I love what they can do now. I cannot wait to read and see more. Have a blast! It is a great experience and I know we loved every moment!

9. Your home looks beautiful so far and how nice to get things done fast!! I dont know what part of the country you live in but here in Florida we have to use some type of block for the first story. We hope to start building our home in the next few months (our plans are awaiting permit approval). After seeing your pictures I would love to contact one of the modular builders and see if they something like that for us.
I noticed youi said “custom Modular” does that mean you designed your own home or do the wall manufactures have to design the home?
What a great idea!!
Thanks
Tina

10. Janice,

Your home looks amazing!. I too am researching “systems built – modular” home construction and hope to have my own in about 30 months or so. If you have any suggestions/comments/helpful hints, I truly would welcome them.

Congrats again on your new home and most of all, ENJOY!!!

11. Hi Rena,
Thank you for your interest. Modulars are a wonderful way to go. They now can be custom designed, it takes patience because even though you can design them you have to work closely with your company as they have to make your design fit the box constrution. It is well worth it. This way of construction needs to be planned out by you as to what you want in your home when it is total finished. With this in mind it is rewarding to do a custom if it’s what you’ve dreamed of. Good luck to you, keep in touch and watch for my progress.
