Whether we recognize it or not, lighting plays a significant role in the decorating of our homes.  Sometimes we want bright lighting, soft lighting, bold lighting, multiple lighting, etc.  We have to find the lighting that is most appropriate for the room, the decor, the style that we wish to put in place.  The lighting for me has changed in a few years, because the circumstances have changed, the design of the room or the environment has gone through a period of transition.  Sometimes, it has been merely seeing something that offers the change that I needed, but I didn’t know what I wanted until I saw this new lighting.

Foyer Lighting:

The previous lighting was very attractive, somewhat global and close to the ceiling, but it didn’t offer much light.  Though the lighting was soft; after awhile I wanted and needed  brighter lighting.  This lighting offered what was needed.   Everyone has his or her own style, but must decide what  lighting is best for their environment.

Kitchen Lighing:

The kitchen lighting has changed after many years.  The hanging lamp lighting consisted of  shades and variations of yellow and brown stainglass.  It was lovely and soft, but always required additional lighting for cooking. With some renovations in the kitchen, the lighting was one of the changes.

The light was not turned on because of the brightness for the camera.  Also the new energy efficient bulbs are used in all lighting throughout the house.  It helps everyone to save on your electric bill.

Flameless Candles:

I love candles around the house, but there are some places when the candles are not safe to sit if they are lit.  There is an answer - the flameless candles!  They look exactly like a dripping candle, they flicker like the real candle, and they can be purchased with the fragrance, if that is your preference.  These candles are battery operated.  They are very inexpensive and attractive!

Table Lamp Lighting:

This table lamp lighting may be used in a number of  places in the home; however, I chose to use them in the bedroom.  I was drawn to the sculptured-looking base of the lamp. When I saw this lamp in HomeGoods, I couldn’t resist and had to purchase them.

1. I love the kitchen and foyer lighting because it gives a global yet modern look. The lighting also appears to pull in the other facets of the surrounding decor.

I have also always loved the flameless candles. However, I have not been able to locate them at the stores I frequent. Not to mention, as a mother with three children, I am drawn to the ambiance of candles, but safety has to be my first priority.

Thank you so much for displaying the items, so I know where they can be purchased.

4. Hi Richelle,

It’s always great to hear from you! Thank you for the comments about the lights in the foyer and the kitchen. I am happpy that you also like the flameless candles. As you have determined, these candles are “childdren friendly.” If you can not find any at HomeGoods, you can get them at Michael’s Arts and Crafts Store, or from the QVC Home Shopping TV Show. There are other major stores that carry this new kind of safe candle. Let us know how you make out! Thanks so much and keep sharing with us!

5. Hi Veronica,

You have made contact with us before. Thank you for your wonderful comments about the Essence of Lighting! I am glad that you, too, like the flameless candles. It is amazing how this candle has proven to be such a a remarkable addition to home decor. As I stated previously, if HomeGoods does not have the flameless candles, since they do not maintain inventory, you may try Michael’s Arts and Crafts store or check out QVC Home Shopping Show. It is also likely that Wal Mart has flameless candles.

Thank you so much! I hope that you continue to share with us.

6. Hi Cathy,

Thank you for your continued kindness! You are such a remarkable cheerleader! Flameless candles are wonderful! They do not have strong light, but the light is so soft and they look as though the wax is dripping down the sides. The little lights in the middle, wtih the help of batteries inside the candle, flicker just like an authentic candle when you are looking from a distance. Flameless Candles are perfect for persons with children, who want the effect, but also safety. They are also great to put in places in the home where you like to have candles and are concerned about the possibility of fire. As I said before, these candles are safe.

Again Cathy, thank you!

I like the light that is hanging in a hall. Did you get that from Homegoods?

8. Hi Karen,

Thank you for taking the time to inquire about the hall hanging light/lamp. In response to your question, I did not get the light from HomeGoods. However, I did purchase it from Lowe’s at a reasonable cost. HomeGoods does have some of the most beautiful lighting that you can find anywhere.

Get to my favorite store and see what you can find in lighting that will meet your expectations. Keep in touch and let us know how you make out.
