Thanksgiving is always an exciting time of the year.  Great family dinner.  Beautiful and cozy environment.  Family members laughing and sharing jokes and old stories about earlier times.  Great fun is had by all as you share recipes and what foods are your favorites.  You even begin to share about some of your Christmas plans.

You call family members to remind them of this special day, but also realizing that every day that you live is a day of “thanks giving.”  You get your menu together and then what about your cooking utensils?  Well, you realize that the ones that you have are in terrible condition and you need new ones.

You have great choices!  The stainless steel cookware/bakeware, the overall varied cooking utensils with the wonderful see-through lids, as well as the colorful cookware/bakeware that is easily integrated on the table with the other dinnerware after being removed from the oven.  You might decide to choose both.

What about dinnerware and eating utensils?  You find some of the most beautiful dinnerware that one has seen that could easily be classified as art.  But you have to choose from the wide variety of silverware/flatware.

(At the bottom of this selection of eating utensils you see the gold chargers that can make your dinner table look like the ”table of royalty.”)

What beverages are being served and what kind of glasses will be needed?  You have an awesome selection to choose from.

The table for the Thanksgiving dinner will look beautiful.  What kind and color table cloth are you going to use?  Will there be a table runner instead of a table cloth?  What about place mats and napkins?  You make the decision.  There is so much to choose from.

These colorful and beautiful ceramic candle-holders are just too gorgeous!  I had to include them and allow them to ”grace the table.”

These are my suggestions.  What are yours?  You can tell that I get excited just thinking of Thanksgiving and as a result, I went beyond my limit of five (5) pictures.  This is a great time!

1. As my Mom always said - if you can’t cook well, at least present it well! I just ordered my T-day sides from dreamdinners.com, so I’m ready to find wonderful serving platters to make the food shine! Off to Home Goods for me! (Now if I can just figure out that turkey part - LOL).

2. Hi Betty,
What a great display of items to entertain in style. Yes, Thanksgiving will be here before we know it. Its always nice to replace some old pieces with some new ones when we see them. Sometimes I think I have time to go back and get what I saw, only to be disappointed when its not there.
I guess its not too early to think about and buy for the Holidays.
I enjoyed the pictures, makes me want to go shop!!! LOL.

3. Hi Susan,

It is always good to hear from you! Without question, I agree with your mom. “Presentation! Presentation! Presentation!” I had to remember that I need to purchase some of the cookware/ bakeware to prepare for the holiday celebration. Just like you, I know where I will be going to get the items that I need.

I love your website! You do a great job! Keep transforming lovely homes and making them beautiful!

4. Hi Cathy,

You are so right! At the time of these pictures, people were buying so many of these items. It was obvious that they were making their purchases before they were sold and off the shelves. It is amazing that you really never think about what you might need in cookware/bakeware/dinnerware until you see the new items and remember that you have been planning for some time to make replacements. I have to constantly think of all steps for appropriate entertainment preparation in order to remember what my needs are. (smile)

However, you are so together and I know that you are “ahead of the game” in entertainment preparation, regardless of the occasion. Now, let’s shop!

5. I am all about the presentation. My big thing is that I get overwhelmed sometimes, I just want it all. I just need to pick one thing at a time which isn’t always an easy thing to do. Like, this Thanksgiving, an addition to my table decor will be chargers…. then I’ll add a little something more (outside of changing colors, which is a must) for Christmas. But I do try to be selective about my choices so that they can carry over with different color schemes/holidays. Does that make sense?

6. Hi Rebecca,

I can relate to you! Some times I want it all, as well. I have to stop and try to think logically and prioritize my interest. Now Rebecca, chargers are a wonderful addition! You will be happy with the elegant look that the table will have with the incorporation of the chargers. You are on target about adhering to a color scheme. It doesn’t mean that it has to be one color, but sticking to a color coordinated scheme is good, even if there are a few colors. For example, some times for Christmas you may have the combination of the colors of green, red and gold, that you are integrating into the decorative theme for that occasion. This is often a gorgeous sight and very welcoming and very much traditional. You don’t have to stick to these colors, but when we see them, we automatically think “Christmas.”

Good luck! You sound like a woman who loves to decorate. Let us know how you make out. Send us pictures. We look forward to hearing from you again.
