Okay, it may be because I was born in the Fall, and my childhood holiday memories include the changing weather . . . but I get excited when the nights get longer and the air is crisp. Our fireplace is ready to go and I start thinking about my evening cup of hot cocoa or some other warm treat! This picture got me thinking about decorating with the things which make the cold weather more pleasant . . . a beautiful throw, velvet pillows, candles burning, and the scent of cinnamon in the air. I am probably in the minority the way I love Fall and Winter. Tell us what you love about this time of year, or what you do to make it more comfortable!
1. Hi Deb.
It sounds like you’re ready to embrace the cooler months ahead. Your home sounds so cozy and comfortable. There’s nothing like a warm fireplace to curl up to when its cold outside. We don’t get overly cold here (so. Cal.) but there will be a nip in the air and the sun sits lower in the sky and creates that change of season feel.
Enjoy your home and more importantly your family and friends that gather around this time of year.
All the best,
Cathy

2. Hi Deb,
I love the feeling I get when I look at this site! It is so warm and comfortable. I feel that I should get a cup of hot cider and cozy back in a wonderful arm chair with my favorite book by the fireplace.

4. Hi Deb,
Can I come stay at your house?! I too love this time of year….autumn is the greatest weather ever! For some reason I break out the scented candles at this time of year, but I need a new fall/winter wreath for my door. Are you for hire? LOL

5. Deb,
I too was born in the fall and just love this time of year. I live in New England and when the nights get cooler and the leaves begin to turn I feel renewed. For me fall is my “New Years”. I begin to make resolutions and begin baking (which often times counteracts one of my resolutions

6. Cindi, Thanks for your comment! My dh and I would love to come to New England to enjoy the change of seasons there one of these years soon. He is an October baby as well. What a great idea of thinking of each birthday as a “New Year” and making your resolutions then as well. My new year begins this weekend so I think it’s time for a couple of fresh starts. Thanks and enjoy your bakinig, I can almost smell the wonderful smell of crisp air, falling leaves, and cookies baking . . . Yum!!!

7. Amanda, You know you are welcome to stay with me anytime! As far as a Fall wreath goes, I don’t make them, but I know a great place to buy one.
Thanks girl! Have a wonderful weekend!

9. I understand that, Julie. We have already been hit pretty hard in the Midwest. I am okay with the cold. ice, and snow until after the first of the year, then I am definitely ready for it to warm up. Enjoy a wonderful and blessed holiday!
