6. Hi Alli & Cathy
I too love the blue …I’m wondering if I can use a accent color like that also in my kitchen. You see I’m in needing of help in decorting my kitchen & living room …with both have dark brown leather sofa’s & dining sets with tiger(redtint) hardwood with dark cherry cabinents with walnut wash colored walls. I worry I have gone to dark in these rooms which run into eachother. I’m wondering how to pop some color into it like Alli has. I have considered buying a sage green chaise lounge but not sure what to do with the kitchen and dining room area. Any ideas …I feel as if I’m too BROWN and the brown has brought the red out more in the floors. Any thoughts here ladies??? Any suggestions would be most helpful? thanks Sadie

7. Thanks Deb.
Glad you like the blue….It makes me still think of the water at the coast!
take care,

8. Hi Sadie,
Your home sounds lovely….How about bringing in a”’sea glass” blue??
I have seen so many accent pieces using these colors, very popular right now. I call “sea glass” a light shade of aqua. Using this color will still look nice with the sage chaise lounge.
The possibilities are endless when you use the blue pallette.
Good luck and be sure and post some photos. We would love to see them.
Happy decorating,
alli

9. Thanks Alli for the tip … I will look for that color for accent. Do you think I should just stay with one accent color?
by Sadie 10/24/07 at 5:19 pm #
10. Hi Sadie,
As long as you stay in the same pallette you should love the results…That is the beauty of the “sea glass” it can range in many hues.
Go to your home improvement store and get a couple of color samples that you would like to use as the accent. i always keep mine in my purse for comparisons….
I am sure it will be beautiful!!!
enjoy and happy decorating!

11. Hi Alli,
I adore the blue and white dishes with your rich cherry wood cabinets.
I made a plate wall with a plate rack which ofcourse I bought in Home goods and filled in blue, white and yellow Tuscany looking country plates. I need a few more. All Im seeing now is Holiday Stuff. Blue is my favorite color too.

12. Donna,
…I saw some great holiday plates in blue and white! They were the traditional pattern, but in blue and white! I may have to add some for Christmas! You know you can never have too many shoes or too much china!!
Your plate wall sounds lovely….I love plates on the wall

14. Hi Shalini,
I have always been attracted to blue and white porcelain…..I found most of these pieces at an off price store…Ross. I don’t know if you have one close by or not, but they have some nice things. The plates that I have hanging vertically I purchased at The Bombay Company. The rooster platter, my mom gave me…..kind of a mix, of a lot of different places. I love to “treasure hunt” and find bargains!!! Good Luck and thanks for visiting!
Happy decorating!

15. hi alli,
i love your kitchen!!! i am in the process of building a house and just visited the design center saturday. i have chosen a granite countertop very similar to the color of yours. i was just wondering if u really like the darkness of your counter top? is there anything u would do different with regards to your colors, cabinets, floors, backsplash, appliance, etc… thanks!

16. Hi Summer,
Congratulations on your new home….it is so much fun picking out everything! I love the way my kitchen turned out, and I would not change a thing. My granite is “uba tuba” named for the city in Brazil. It has wonderful “flecks” of colors.
When you get moved in, post a photo of your new home. I would love to see it.
Thanks for visiting the site and come again soon.
happy decorating!

17. Hi Alli,
What a great kitchen! Have one question, are the walls yellow? They look tan in one picture but yellow in the other. I love the pieces you have chosen for your accents. I love collecting plates, each one is like a fine painting. I mainly collect Stangl Pottery, altough I have a complete set of dishes, each pattern is so beautifully hand painted I try to to have pieces of them all. Keep the pictures coming.

18. We’re about to begin our kitchen remodel with cabinet colors very close to yours. I was hesitant with my Ubatuba choice, but I’m so glad we went with it!! It looks beautiful!

19. Love It! I have cobolt blue bottles throughout my kitchen and bedroom windows. I have honey oak cabinets and white ceramic tile back splash and counter tops. I would like to change the countertop. What should I color and textile should I go with? I still want to accent with the blue…what color should I paint the room?
Thanks in advance,
Barb
