This is the time of year when we will start our process of having friends and family grace our homes for dinners and celebrations. It is such a wonderful time because the changing of the seasons, changes the way we began to function. I look forward to having small dinner parties and laughing and talking with friends. I always like to dress up the table with special tableware, glasseware, flatware, table cloths and napkins. But in all of it, many times, the napkin rings and napkins seem to have the greatest impact on the guests and they seem to dress up the table the most.
1. You can purchase napkin rings in a box with napkins.
2. Making napkin rings can be a family project. These napkin rings can be cut from the paper towel roll and covered with Christmas ribbon, birthday ribbon, seasonal ribbon, wall paper to match the decor in the dining or kitchen area, gift wrapping paper, fabric, etc.
3. For Christmas, you can use a few of the decorations that are purchased (in particular) for decorating the Christmas wreaths to make napkin rings. There are many decorations with the long wire stems that can be formed in a circle to provide a perfect napkin ring.
4. You may see that I have used a gold chair that should hang on a Christmas tree and I have placed the napkin under it. This can be a really nice gift from the hostess to the guests.
5. The two hand made napkin rings in pink and yellow( bottom to the right) were made by my daughter when she was in nursery school. She is now married with three children. These are my favorite napkin rings. The last three to the right were made from a paper towel roll.

These represent samples from different sets of napkin rings. Would you consider napkin rings and then what would be your choice?
1. I love all your ideas for napkin rings. For Fall, raffia tied around the napkin would look great too. I like using old rhinestone jewelry attached to ribbon at Christmas.

5. Hi Betty,
All the napkin rings are cute. I particularly like the gold Louis chair. What a great idea. You’re right, many items can be used or reconfigured to make darling napkin rings. You have quite a collection to choose from when you entertain. The napkin rings act as the JEWELRY on the table. A great touch.

6. Hi Cathy,
Thank you for your great comments! The Louis Chair is one that I truly love and appreciate. In fact, all of them hold a special place. But, as I said before, the napkin rings made by my daughter in nursery school have the greatest impact. Thanks for reminding me that the napkin rings act as Jewelry on the table. That is a significant point!
I always appreciate your response!
