Alli, in her previous post, gave me an idea on lighting a pumpkin without using candles. I used a small strand of clear Christmas lights to light mine. My husband thought it would be a good idea to drill some holes in the eyes, teeth, and head and stick the little lights in them, the rest of the strand just sits inside the pumpkin. It seemed to work good. We cut a small square in the back of the pumpkin to run the cord out of. It really shows up good at night and no burning candles to deal with.

3. I love these Halloween-safe displays and how you’ve created great holiday decor with live/edible products. As a professional organizer I’ve been encouraging those living in small spaces with limited storage to look to live/edible decorations that don’t require year round storage. Hope you’ll have some more ideas to show us for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Enjoy your blog very much, thanks, joan [...], Simple Effects

6. Hi Alli,

Yes, the orange lights would look better in the pumpkin. Then you wouldn’t see all the green wires and lights. Great tip. I’ll look for those…next year.
