Fall Bedroom

I noticed that some of you have been looking for posts relating to finding a bed in a bag. This is a set that I found last year. I wanted to share it because it is the reason for my Spring bedroom posts, and the reason I felt the need to lighten up for the warm weather. It is very heavy and warm with velvets and brocades, and is also the reason I keep the walls a light cream color. The room is not very large and with all of the rich cherry furniture and burgundy fabric I felt that it would feel cramped and dark with deeper colored walls. I could go with a gold, and I may do that the next time we paint. Isn’t color a wonderful thing to think about, there are soooo many choices?!

So, as the temperatures get cool here in the Midwest, I look forward to getting cozy under a warm comforter, as I snuggle in for the night. Tonight as you settle in, don’t forget to turn your clocks back an hour and enjoy that extra hour of much needed sleep!

3. Hello Deb,

Your room looks so warm and cozy. Just right for a long winters nap!
Love all the colors. I agree with you, a light gold color on the wall would be beautiful with the colors in the quilt.
Enjoy your beautiful room and sleep tight!

4. Hi Deb,

Love the room. I have a comforter that looks like the floral design in your comforter. Swag valances on the windows of the same design and a burgundy carpet. I went with the gold color on the wallls and it looks good. Brings out the gold background in the floral design. like you, didn’t want to make the walls dark.

5. Thanks Millie, I am seriously considering going with the gold the next time I paint. I have a coloniial gold on the walls in my great room and I think it would look nice in the bedroom as well. Thanks for taking the time to share your encouragement.

6. Alli, Yes we would enjoy a visitor from NC anytime!

Cathy, Betty, & Alli, Thanks girls! You are such great encouragers! Although, I know that comfort and cozy are not the goal for everyone when decorating, it is one of mine. I love to have my home feel like a refuge. So, thanks for your words that tell me I may just be achieving my objective.

8. Thanks Carla, I was just talking with my dh about when I would begin decorating the rest of the house for the holiday. It is hard to believe that time is here again. Thanks again!
