With the Thanksgiving holiday about a week away, it is time to re-visit our timeline…..

*Start your food shopping
* Finish any last minute house cleaning chores and prepare for overnight guests.
*Prepare any food that can be made ahead of time, pie pastry, chop veggies for sides and store in the refrigerator in plastic storage bags.
*If you purchased a frozen turkey, begin thawing in the refrigerator.
*get as many chores done ahead of time, so you can enjoy the holiday with your family!
Countdown will continue….stay tuned!

1. Hi Alli,
Thanks for more timeline ideas. I think the more organized you are and have a plan ,like you’ve outlined, the less stress you’ll have. I like to make lists for the day on what needs to be done. It feels so good at the end of the day to see most, or all, that was listed crossed off.
Thanks for your timely timeline!

2. Cathy,
I agree…..it is a lot less overwhelming with a plan!
Have a terrific holiday!

3. Hi Alli,
Thank GOD I don’t have to prepare dinner for Thanksgiving this year! I will take something to the family home that I am invited to. I love it like this, because I get a chance to sleep later and just concentrate on what I am going to take. It is one of the most wonderful times in the year that is a stress elimination time for many and it just happens to be celebration time. Sooooo the timeline helps me to remind others of what has to be done by a specified time. Thanks!!! (You can’t know how relieved I am.)

4. Hi Ali,
Ok, here’s my practical two cents…don’t go nuts cleaning before everyone comes. People are more comfortable in a home that isn’t “perfect” - less intimidating! Tidy up, but save the deep cleaning for after they’ve gone!

8. Hi Deeya,
HomeGoods does not have an on-line store…..just keep checking in your local store, the merchandise virtually changes daily! It will become a habit…”speaking from experience” I have found similar things at Marshalls and TJ Maxx…..It will be the “thrill of the hunt”. I am sure you will find other things you need as well. LOL Happy shopping and decorating, and be sure to check in again soon.
