I am so impressed with those of you who found time to write last week. Nice work! My week was spent with one of our daughters at home, a little shopping, lots of cooking, time with family and friends, and then decorating!I have really just begun the process of things I would like to do this year, but we were able to get the tree up and decorated. Now that we are a family with grown children, and no grandbabies until 2008, I decided that for a year or two the tree did not have to be completely kid friendly. For years and years, we decorated with a homespun look of homemade ornaments that were unbreakable. It was cute and fun, but we were ready for a change. I decided that burgundy and gold complimented the colors in our furniture, and a little bit of a stretch for this usually traditional girl.
This collage is all of the same tree . . . different angles, different times of day, differents focal points. We would love it if some of you would share pictures of your trees and decorations in our customer finds area. I enjoy the fact that each individual tree is a reflection of the persoanal flair of the decorator. There are theme trees, those with natural decorations, glitzy, homespun, red and green, gold, silver, tinsel, ribbons, and on and on and on . . .
Share your thoughts and ideas, you may just inspire me to try something new and different again next year.
1. Hi Deb – Great tree! I must say I’m a bit jealous that your tree can be breakable this year! My kids (2 and 6) decorated our tree over the weekend (with all non-breakable ornaments). While it doesn’t look great (are Mom’s supposed to say that?) they are having a blast playing with the ornaments. I’m trying to hold back from rearranging them. My time will come! Enjoy your tree!
Sooooo…grand-baby in the works?

2. Hi Deb,
I love Christmas trees and I love the way you have decorated yours. It is beautiful and creative. I love the collage of looking at the tree from the different angles. That’s a great idea!
Thanks for sharing!

3. I have been a customer of Homegoods for many years and am always happy with their merchandise and the service that we have received. I did have a question about the dishes coming out of China, though. With all of the recent hype about lead paint, I can’t help but to wonder if you know if your merchandise (dishes that you eat on) is safe.
Thank you,
Kelli Shields

5. Hi Susan, I have enjoyed decorating the tree without worry, but I did love the days when the kids made the ornaments and placed them in clumps nose high. So, enjoy these moments they pass way too quickly . . . and yes we are excited about the grandbaby on the way. Thanks as always for your words of encouragement. Deb

7. Hi Deb,
I love your Chrismas tree collage. How did you do that? Great looking!
Your tree looks beautiful. Love the golds and burgundy. Its nice to change the tree once in a while. I love all my old stuff and keep them all, but its fun to add new decorations and freshen-up the old. It looks like a fresh tree….love the smell… ummmm. Enjoy your beautiful new tree and tell us how you did the graphics.
