This is my little dining room. I’ve used the black and white Damask pattern in here as well.
Fortunately, I was able to find some plates that had the Damask pattern on them. They were reasonably priced, ($4.99 ea.) so I picked up a few. Guess where? I did stencil a few things…napkin rings, have a monogram on them, and napkins. Also a simple design and monogram on the chair seats, done a few years ago.

The flowers are cut from my yard. I have a Bougainvillea vine growing on my fence. The bright red “flowers” are actually the leaves of the plant, and they bloom year round here.

I have a crystal dinner bell collection of about 20 or so. I thought I’d hang a few from the chandelier and set one on each plate. They are tied tightly around the stem with ribbon and then tied to the arms of the fixture. It adds a little sparkle and formality to the setting. You could hang glass ornaments. glass snowflakes, icicles, glass stars, anything that might add a little sparkle.

Another view. Black and white checks were mixed in with the Damask. Simple and graphic.
Its been fun decorating this year. Hope you’re enjoying the posts. More to come.

5. Hi, Cathy:
I’m new here, and I just love how you’ve decorated your home for Christmas and in general. The black and white and damask patterns are so gorgeous and elegant. I admire the hand stenciling you did, something I wish I could have time for (I’ve got two little ones)! Will we see a photo of the front of your home, or have you already posted it? Where do you live? We live in in a small home in Sacramento, and I need more ideas to make the rooms look more inviting. I don’t have much time to focus on decorating, with working f/t and managing the household but I am truly inspired by being here. I am so glad I found this Web site and community of bloggers. Everyone here is so talented, friendly, and helpful!

8. Hello Cynthia,
How exciting to be moving into a new house for Christmas. You’ll have a clean slate to decorate.
Yes, a small house is easy, economical and fun to decorate. It doesn’t take a lot of Anything to pull it together. We downsized from a larger house to be be closer to the beach and I’ve really loved living in a smaller space.
Glad you like the chandelier wreath. Add your own personel touch. Anything can be added. I just like the clear glass/crystal to keep it open airy and dressy.
Thank you for your comments,
Happy Holidays to you too.

16. Thanks so much Pamela,
The chandelier was fun to do. My kids go by and ring the bells. I say “stop that”… I’m afraid they will come off if played with too much.
Thats kids for you…even adult kids.
Thanks for commenting. Write back soon.

17. Hoping someone can help me. A friend of mine bought at “Home Goods” a box of what looked like crystal or glass 6 or 8 sided snowflakes or icicle that is absolutely beautiful. On the box has no name of the ornaments but does have the following information: Dept.47, Style 204157, Type 1, Cat. 1010-C1106,compare at $8.00, our price $4.99m made in China. These are beautiful and I would love to get a hold of some for my tree next year.
