Since you have seen the niche over my fireplace for harvest…I thought it was about time I showed you the Christmas look…. The vases flanking both sides are filled with cranberries to hold the tulips and amaryllis in place. Amazingly, they last the entire season. I have white lights on the garland and it is “dripping” in stars and icicles….. A bit closer to Christmas eve, I will hand the stockings on the mantle…..It is always fun to decorate for the first time in a house, I am sure this look will change many times over the years……what do you think????

LOVE IT Do you LOVE IT?

1. I use my “houses to cover the mantle along with Christmas Greens. I don’t hear of many people using “houses” anymore……
Let me know if some people have ideas>>>>>

3. Alli,

This is so elegant and beautiful. Love the simplicity and symmetry. The fresh tulips and amaryllis are wonderful. Love fresh flowers whenever you can use them. Your mirror almost looks like a beveled window draped in the “dripping” garland. A sophistocated and classy display. Enjoy your fisrt Christmas in your new house. Its lovely!

4. Alli,

I love it! I don’t have a mantel and I think often of adding one. They are such a beautiful place for focal point decorating . . . and you have once again done a fabulous job!!!!

8. All of these ideas sound wonderful! Love the cranberries in the vases. I usually put our nutcrackers across the mantel! When I said to my husband “Looks like it is full! I guess we need to stop buying a nutcracker each year”, he said “NO! We will just continue them somewhere else!” I guess the tradition of a new nutcracker each year will continue!
