Just had to share with you some photos from my home town…..It is a small town in Western North Carolina, that becomes a “Christmas Fantasy Land” every year at this time. The streets are lined with trees that are transformed with tiny white lights, and the fountain in the middle of town looks like a gingerbread forest! You can take a handsome carriage ride thru the town and then enjoy hot chocolate or mulled cider….brings back so many childhood memories.
I think if you click on the photos they will get larger…….

2. Hello fellow “Tarheel”
This is a small town between Asheville and Charlotte, in the western part of the state. the name of the town is Forest City. I hope you get a chance to visit…they will have the display up until New Year’s Day!

3. Alli,

What a fun town you live in. Its so beautiful and festive. Love all the pictures and the beautiful trees all lit up. The horses and carriages add to the wonderful ambiance of the night. All you need are a few feet of snow… but i’m sure you’ll take the rain instead.
Its fun to get out and soak up all the community spirit. A real feel of Christmas in the air.
Enjoy,
Cathy

4. Hi Alli, Not only are your houses beautiful but your town is beautiful too!!!! My brother and sister-in-law live in Asheville and we usually stop there on our way back to New york state in May from Florida. We also found out a cousin recently moved to a town called West Jefferson N.C. anywhere near you? Maybe someday day we will take a road trip to Forest City…I love North Carolina and especially Asheville..my sister-in-law works at the winery on the grounds of the Biltmore estate and says it is a fantastic place to see at Christmas. Thanks for sharing your pictures and have a wonderful Holiday season and a very Happy New year…Margie

6. Season’s greetings Margie,
You are always so complimentary…..I am thrilled that you have discoverd Asheville. The Biltmore House is certainly a treasure that all North Carolinians are proud to have in our state.
So many “snowbirds” stop in NC to and from Florida. West Jefferson is a bit further north than Forest City, but I have visited there and it is a lovely town. I live in Raleigh now, as you know, and the decorations at the state capital are very nice as well…..
Please come and visit “the Tarheel state” anytime, and maybe you might like to move here…..I know a good real estate broker….hahhahah.
Have a wonderful Holiday, and please stay in touch!
Your friend,
alli

7. Hi Alli,

How beautiful! This looks like a street parade in Disney World. This had to be a glorious site to behold. Are these ponies and horses? They are such elegant animals. The lights on the trees and the decorations enhance the festive air of the evening. thank you for sharing with us. It’s great to see some of the beauty of the holiday on parade.

Be blessed,

Betty

8. Alli, I was surprised to see Forest City on this web site! I grew up in Columbus, NC so I know what a small area it is. We were so excited when they built Tri City Mall! I now live in Va Beach and have for 25 years, but my mom is still in Columbus.
