Are little kids cramping your grownup entertaining style? You could just hope they’ll stay engrossed in a DVD, or incorporate them into your party! Extend your invitation to include guests’ children and hire a couple babysitters to entertain them with crafts, snowmen sundaes, karaoke, or whatever!

With the money guests save on babysitting expenses, ask them to bring a new, wrapped toy for a selected charity. While the kids are busy being kids, you can enjoy your grownup guests (responsibly), and no one will have to call in to check on their sitters. How do you entertain with kids?

1. Hi Susan,

It is so great to see that you are the featured blogger.! You are always so supportive of everyone and you have such great ideas and comments. I love the idea of asking the guests to bring their children and the idea of hiring two baby sitters that would occupy the kids time with well planned activities. I also love the idea of asking the guest to bring a gift that can be given to a selected charity. These are wonderful ideas and I am sure that a lot of persons will take heed and do as you suggested.

Thanks loads and have a wonderful Christmas!!

4. Susan,

I’m so glad you jumped in and joined us!! You are one of the regulars on this site. Love your idea about including kids in the party, but a separate one for them while the adults have theirs. Sharing the babysitters is a great idea. You always have good ideas!
Its great to see your smiling face. Can’t wait to hear more from you.
Have a wonderful Christmas,
Cathy

8. Or, you can just wait until you’re an “empty nester” and not have to worry about babysitters!
The best thing we as grandparents ever did is to install a laminate floor so we no longer worry about grandchildren’s many spills, nor about their dog accidents. We can remain happy the whole time they’re visiting!
However, your advice is good, Susan. Keep it up.
