I am attending a holiday get together this evening. The invitation said that guests might bring their favorite salad topper. So, I decided to try something I had not tried before. I love spiced pecans. I am excited to say that I not only found a great recipe, it was sooooo easy! So, I am going to share . . .

Cinnamon Pecans

2-3 cups pecans
2 tbsp. egg whites
1/3 cup sugar
1tbsp. cinnamon

Coat the pecans with egg whites until sticky, combine sugar and cinnamon, pour over pecans and mix until well coated. Bake at 300 degrees for 20 min. on an ungreased baking sheet . . . I used my pizza stone and it worked great!

That’s it! I am taking them surrounding a dish of craisins another favorite. I think these pecans would make a great gift wrapped in a beautiful dish. Cathy’s bread tray wrapping was so beautiful, I thought something like that would work here as well.

Now, a quick plug to keep your eyes open for jar candles with a wooden wick, they crackle when they burn. Beautiful for indulging sight, smell, and sound!

LOVE IT Do you LOVE IT?

1. Deb,
I have always loved these pecans in a salad, and now i know how to make them…..thanks!
I also have a “wood wick” candle, and I absolutely love it! They burn for a really long time and the burning wood sound is so relaxing!
Happy Holidays….

2. Hey Deb,

I love spiced pecans. They are so good. Yummy in a salad with the craisens, grilled chicken, manderin oranges, red onion and a good vinegrette. Delish! They would make a great gift too. Such yummy things to eat this time of the year. No diet for me right now. I’ll start again in Jan.
Never heard of a wood wick candle. Where have you seen them? Sounds interesting.
Nuts to you!

3. Hi Deb,

I eat salads at least four to five times per week. I love to top them with nuts, rasisins, bananas, manderin oranges, dried blue berries, dried cranberries, crispy apple chips, crunched bacon, along with turkey, salmon, chicken, and other delicious meat that help make the salad into a great meal. Of course, they are not all put on the salad at the same time (smile), but I’m tempted some times. However, I have not tried cinnamon coated pecans. But now I will. They sound like they would be a great addition and quite delicious.

Thanks for sharing. Be blessed!

4. Thanks Girls,

You all sound like fellow salad lovers, especially when they are topped with all of the extra yummy ingredients. And I agree Cathy, this is no time of year to diet . . . I still try to be careful, but dieting can wait a few weeks! :-) As for the wood wick candles, they are usually found at specialty stores, but my last few have been purchased at HomeGoods.
Yeah!!

Have a wonderful and blessed weekend.
