It is amazing how healthy salmon is for the largest segment of the population. A recent study showed that more people are eatting Salmon then ever before. Much of the attention given to Salmon might be due to the fact that many doctors have shared with patients that Salmon is “heart-healthy” and a wonderful antioxidant (It slows the aging process). Most of us would love to slow that aging process just a little (smile). In fact it is among the top antioxidants, as determined by nutritionists.

Researchers have also determined that it is a great “brain food” and it is often suggested to be included in the dieters food choices. Even though it’s a wonderful and nutritional food, I can’t say that it’s great for everyone, because there are many people who are allergic to Seafood. But, for those of us who are not, it’s a delicious and tasty fish that’s easy to digest and quite easy to prepare. This is just the right season!!! As we begin to eat outside and prepare food on the grill, try salmon.
One quick and easy recipe is:
4 Salmon fillet (at least 5 ounces each)
1/2 Lemon or lime
1 tbl. spoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Very healthy)
1 teaspoon of Soy Sauce
1 teaspoon of ginger
Seasonings that you prefer and as you determine ( I like Salt Sense and Montreal Chicken Seasoning Condimento)
A basting brush
Mix the olive oil, soy sauce, ginger and the squeezed lemon or lime into one mixture. Pre-heat the grill to medium-high. Use the basting brush to spread the mixture over the salmon. Sprinkle the seasonings on the salmon. Lay them strategically on the grill. The salmon should be done in about 3 to 5 minutes. When it is complete, you will have healthy food that will taste delicious! Grilling is a fun and an easy way to cook. But most of all, it saves time!

4. Hi Yolanda,
Wonderful for you that you have a cooking business as well as a design business! Just think, this is great information to include when you share with customers about the menus that you offer. I love salmon and when you spoke of putting pico dell gello on top, it sounded like something I should look into. I am a person that eats salmon at least one to two times per week. I know that it isgood for you as well as great tasting.
I am so pleased that you learned the real power of this wonderful food. Dr. NIcholas Perricone, a physician who specializes in helping women and men to through the introduction of his 28 day program for the total body and face rejuvenation, refers to salmon, as “the great antioxidant.”
Keep in touch and let me know what some of your results are. In Dr. Perricone’s book, entitled “The Perricone Prescription,” you get entire menus for different days that will enable you to see physical changes in 3-28 days.
Thank you for sharing, Yolanda. I wish you the very best in both of your businesses and “may success make a path to your door.”

5. I prepare it a little Indian way…
I marinate salmon (for about 10 minutes) with a mixture of
grated ginger
grated garlic
olive oil
lime juice
salt
paprika
cilantro
Then I lay a bed of spinach leaves in a baking pan and put marinated salmon on it. Bake it for 8 minutes or so on 400F.
I serve it with tamrind chutney…Yummy!!!
This is my own recipe. I kind of leant it thru various combinations. Just a grilled salmon is somehow too bland for me…
