Mirrors!  Lovely, exciting and dramatic mirrors make such a difference in the decoration of a home or any other place where they are needed and/or utilized as beautiful decor that serves it’s reflective purpose. However, the real excitement is in the fact that these decorative mirrors are essential in promoting beauty and accessorizing any area of their location.  On many occassions, the mirror is the focus of a room and even a house.

They have become exciting pieces of wall art and as a result, the designs, shapes and styles  have changed drastically to accommodate the interest of those who seek to make dramatic changes in their homes. There is no longer a demand for the non-decorative, plain, rectangular mirrors that have met the basic needs for usage in our homes.  Like art, the  decorative mirrors have claimed their place in home decor and should reflect your interest and your style.

I love mirrors!  This large and beautiful wall mirror (40 x 40) is in the entrance hallway of this lovely home.  It makes the statement that the owner wants it to make when guests enter the home.  It provides an introduction to the home. The split level residence does not allow for a console table, but this mirror with a fancy umbrella stand compliments the entrance.  It accessorizes the entrance into the home.

IMG0990
This mirror graces the top of the stairs in this home.  The design on the frame of the mirror is Greecian with different textures, carvings and paintings to give depth to the frame of the mirror, while adding the dramatic appeal.  This mirror is complimented by this beautiful 36″ tall floor vase, with the arrangement of the curly willows that highlight the mirror.  It visually expands the space all around it while adding depth and pleasure with the artistic beauty.

IMG1008
This unique mirror was not purchased for the usual reflective purposes, but for the design and drama that brings attention to the decor in the room.  It has dual responsibilities in that it is a work of art and on it’s own serves as a focal point.  There are times when we decide that the mirror, as wall decor,  is more significant for it’s style, beauty, dramatic and the artistic impact.

Some of the other designs of wall mirrors are baroque mirrors, classic mirrors, beveled mirrors, thick carved wall mirrors, sunburst type mirrors, etc.  Whatever your design or style, have fun when you are decorating and experiment with the different styles and exciting decorative designs.  As you would with any art, make certain that the mirrors that you choose  reflect your decorating style and personality.  You will be glad that you did, because you will see the transition in your home that will please you and others.  As the mirrors accessorize they add drama and highlight your decorating style.

Tell us about your choice of mirrors and what they mean to you. Do you love to look at the different and dramatically styled  mirrors in the stores?  When was the last time that you purchased a mirror for your home and what did you buy?  Tell us about it.

1. Can you tell me how to order, I like the wall mirror ( 40×40 ) you do not have style numbers or how to order.

2. Hi Betty,

I do use mirror for home staging, but they key is to pay attention to what is reflected back in them. If a mirror reflects an often-messy mudroom, for example, it needs better placement!

4. Hi Susan,

I agree with you totally! Because the mirror adds depth to the room and creates an illusion of space, you must make certain that what is reflected is what you want to see reflected. I love having it near art or flowers, because it gives you twice the viewing pleasure.

It’s always good to see your comments on the site. You always give insiteful information. I hope that everything is going great for you and enjoy this wonderful weather!

5. I love the mirrors. I have been looking for a mirror with a round or oval shape, do they have any at Homegoods?

6. Hi Betty,
I just want to let you know that my husband and I have become in love with mirrors not so much for the mirror aspect but for the art approach.
In March we sold our house of 20 yrs to down size and rebuild at our other property only a mile away. We basically started from scratch as far as completely gutting the inside of our structure.
I am an artist while my husband is very creative so we have started many new ventures in decorating as the house is almost finished. We have picked out a few mirrors we have seen at Home Goods that are very unusual for our bathrooms but we have started to make some of our own from used furniture, window frames that I repainted and furniture doors that we will be adding hooks to for hanging things. I also am going to paint some frames for larger mirrors for some of the rooms.
I am waiting to take pictures as we finish them and hang them. I will come back and share with you.
I just love your mirrors and your ideas, that they are aslo art.
Thanks so much for sharing your ideas and pictures, they are beautiful.

7. Hi Richelle,

It’s always good to hear from you! Yes! HomeGoods has some of the most beautiful and artistic mirrors that you can find any where. I recently purchased one from HomeGoods for clients that they both absolutely love. Ironically, it sold at a high-end store for $350.00 more then the HG cost. It was the same mirror, same manufacturer and the identical style. The clients were estatic, not just because of the savings, but the beauty of the art piece that just happened to be a mirror.

Check out the mirrors at HG and let us know what masterpiece you were able to find.

Happy hunting!

11. Hi Betty,

I bought a mirror from HomeGoods a few weeks ago and we love it.
We built a new home and are having a blast decorating, mainly with things purchased at HomeGoods!!! The mirror I bought had a beautiful, multi-colored frame. It was fun looking at all the mirrors HomeGoods had in stock! Our dining room is large and as I had already hung pictures and other things on the walls, I was looking for something different to add to the bare spots. I placed the mirror on a wall that is divided by two windows, leaving a small section of wall in the middle. I have a serving table underneath the mirror. The mirror reflects the chandelier and the large flower arrangement on the dining room table.
HomeGoods has made me excited about shopping again - thanks!

13. Mirrors can add so much elegance to your room. If you are afraid of purchasing art or don’t quite know what to buy….purchase a mirror instead. I purchased two gorgeous mirrors at Home Goods. One in my entry way is dark wood with gold trim and hand painted with beautiful flowers….the second in my dining room is dark wood and antiqued and it compliments my dining set perfectly. Both were very affordable and have received many compliments from guests. The trick is to visit your Home Goods store weekly to check out the new merchandise- you become familiar with what you like and the price you want to pay. When you find the one you love, you will buy it immediately.

14. Hi Betty,

Where can I purchase the Mirrow with the metal decor, last photo on this page? Also what size is it and how much. I have been looking a piece like this to hang over my fireplace. Thank you

15. I shopped, for the first time, a couple of days ago in your store. I LOVE it…everything! I could stay in there for hours and still find something the next day that I missed. I am building a new home and was looking for mirrors. I had priced some in our home town, they were very expensive and not that attractive, unless you spent several hundreds of dollars/mirror. I found 5 mirrors in homegoods. Two of them sets, one…I am hoping to find another to match it…that one was my favorite! Absolutely gorgeous and very well made of high quality! Please, consider getting a system to track and find cartain items when customers need more than one…whether by e-mail or in the store. Dee:)
