I love Shadow Box
Wall Art!! It’s so interesting and quite intriguing wall decor. I’m often fascinated to see what object is being highlighted in this shadow box design and how it has been artistically transformed into this piece of art.

Look at this beautiful ceramic horse that is mounted in this shadow box art. Note the decorative form of matting and the dark background that highlights the horse.

Now, in a lot of shadow box art you don’t necessarily find matting. The inside of the box is covered with a light brown patterned fabric that is glued to the box. This is lovely wall decor.

This is another ceramic horse, dark brown in color and quite lovely. As you can see, the immediate background is again black. The matting that surrounds it elevates this art form. Because this is a dark brown horse on the black background, it is not as visiably pronounced in this picture. However, the design of this matting is a little different from what you see around the ceramic horse in the prior shadow box art and it does help in highlighting the horse. To visually examine the full details of the artistic mounting in this shadow box, you can see that it is really a beautiful piece of art. The inside covering in the box is the same as the prior shadow box.

This Shadow Box Wall Art is a collection of small Asian scripted/designed bowls. This is a very interesting design that forced me to closely examine how this wall decor was artistically put together. This, too, has matting that is designed to grab the viewer’s attention. This too, is a lovely piece of art.

You can make your own Shadow Box Wall Art. (1) If you don’t make your own shadow box you can buy one from one of the craft stores. (2) It will probably be without proper backing. Decide on the background design that you want to show. (3) Identify what you want to go in your shadow box design – will it be artistic or memorabilia that you want to share? (4) If you can’t frame it yourself, get a good framing shop to do it for you. Voila! You’ve made your own shadow box!

2. Hi Ellen,

How was your shopping trip at the HomeGoods at Boca Raton? It sounds like you might have had an interesting experience. You said that you brought three white chairs and that you had lettering on the back of the tables. Was the lettering on the tables or on the three chairs that you purchased? Either way, if the lettering is self-adhesive lettering you can spray WD-40 on it and peel it off after a few minutes. That is a relatively easy process. You can also use a hair blower on it and it will make adhesive lettering easy to get off. Now, with the the hair blower you have to be careful that you don’t scorch the table (or if you meant to say chairs) or the chairs.

Let me know how you made out. Good luck to you and Happy July 4th!!
