…that’s my philosophy for living. In fact, the tag line for my business, A Cottage Industry, is “adding charm to everyday life“.
Hello! I’m Tracey Buxton and I’m one of the new bloggers here at Openhouse. I’m so looking forward to getting settled in and getting to know every one! Since it’s my first post, I’ll share a little bit about me- I live in a 1960’s era ranch-style-turned-cottage home in Reno, Nevada with my two big dogs.
Anything to do with homekeeping, baking, thrifting, nesting or decorating inspires me, and I love to see just how creative I can be on my shoestring budget. (which is one of the many reasons shopping at HomeGoods and TJ Maxx n’ More are two of my routine shopping stops.)
I have a room in my cottage I call my “creative command central”, and you’ll find me in here, in my charming little haven, at least two hours each and every day, working on projects, blogging, crafting or creating. (That’s it right there in the photo for my post. More pictures of my crafting space are located here.)
The reason I am sharing this with you is so that when you read my posts, you can picture me here, typing away at my incredibly long skirted table, dogs at my feet, and plenty of sunshine (or snow, depending on the time of year) just outside my windows.
Yes, I am all about living a charmed life…on a shoestring.
1. I’m so excited to see you on here! Now I can get even more of your writing on a weekly basis.

31. Hello Tracey
I have been checking out more of your blog. Boy you are a busy, busy girl. We seam to have a lot in common….we both love the color aqua or robins egg blue and both sure do shop a lot at TJ’s and Homegoods. I live aprox 10 houses from them both and about ten minutes from Marshall’s. I don’t know what my life would be like if they shoud ever leave. My house is probally 90% decorated with them and Pier One which is also 10 house down the street…lucky, lucky me.
So glad to have found you and your blog
Have a great life
