My dh and I enjoyed a couple of days away last week. The weather was a little cooler, and the drive along Interstate 44 was beautiful!Arriving at our destination, we were excited about checking into our hotel. Our daughter had been there just a couple of weeks before and had returned with great enthusiasm. Always armed with my camera these days, I was prepared to take a few quick snapshots to share the experience with all of you.

I thought the colors in this Hilton Hotel were lovely. Not a combination I have seen often, but one I would like to see again. The rich red, dark brown, and gold/green complimented each other so well. It is rare to see laminate flooring in a hotel room, but I loved not having to wonder about the cleanliness of the carpeting.

All of the lines in the rooms were simple, clean, and well aligned. The artwork all over the hotel had simple splashes of color rather than detailed landscapes or floral designs.

I found our experience there to be very relaxing and enjoyable, and attributed much of my relaxed state to the colors and design of our room. I’m not ready for a complete redo at the moment at my house, but maybe some of you are – after all it is redecorating season. As the holidays approach we tend to think about ways to prepare our homes for entertaining.
