One of my favorite things to do during the cool Autumn days is to bake. And cookies are probably the most appreciated in my home. On my personal blog I shared my absolute favorite Pumpkin Cookie recipe and thought it was too good not to share here. I hope that you will bake these for your family, I know they will be gobbled up in no time……….
Pumpkin Cookies with Cinnamon Glaze
1 c. pumpkin
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
2 1/4 c. flour
Preheat oven to 350. Mix wet ingredients together with the sugar until well blended. In a separate bowl combine the salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and flour and then add to the wet ingredients. With a small ice cream scoop, drop onto cookie sheet and bake for 13-14 minutes.
For the Cinnamon Glaze, I use about 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar, 1 Tbs. softened butter, and milk until it has a nice smooth consistency. After it is thoroughly combined I stir in a pinch or two of cinnamon. Drizzle glaze over cooled cookies and Enjoy!
1. Heather: I tried your recipe and you’re right - they are delicious. Sent some for my husband to share with his colleagues and there wasn’t a crumb left on the plate!! Thanks for sharing.
p.s. I assumed the sugar was to be part of the “wet mix” as it wasn’t mentioned with the dry mix. Was I right on that?

2. Hi Joan,
So glad your family and your husbands colleagues enjoyed them. They are always a hit in my home. Thanks for the correction on the sugar, I updated the post. Guess I won’t be writing any cookbooks anytime soon!
