Night Mantel
While I enjoy my copper pumpkins on my mantel this time of year, it’s the nighttime that makes them truly spooktacular (sorry, couldn’t resist).

Think about it…with the days getting shorter, you see your mantel at night more often than in the light.

So when you make your seasonal mantel display, make sure it works for you in the dark as well! You can do this with candles, lighted wreaths, or even mini-table lamps can add a whole new lighted dimension!

This time of year I really love candles, and light them every night after the kids go to bed. Yes, I go through a lot of tea lights! But it’s a great way to unwind, enjoy a a glass of wine and take time to read. A fire in the fireplace is just a bonus!

At Christmastime, I take it up a notch with a lighted wreath - the kids love it, and it casts a nice glow on the room (click pic to enlarge).

How do you use light in your mantel displays?

1. I’m in love! I recently became aquainted with your store and couldn’t believe my eyes when visiting. I felt like a kid in a candy store. I would like to see you carry some high end african american (not african but african american) items (figurines and art), there is a large market out there for these items. Thanks!

4. Hi Susan,

Your fireplace looks wonderful. I love being able to “light” the mantel. It’s such a focal point and you can add alot of holiday spirit. Your home is looking quite “spooktacular”! I bet your girls are getting excited for the big night. Thanks for a glimpse!

6. Hi Cathy,

Thanks! The girls are excited, but easily scared, so we’ve kept the “spook” out of spooktacular for the most part. LOL
