Candles are the perfect decorating accessory. Especially now that the holidays and cozy winter nights are fast approaching. Shorter days and longer nights in late fall and winter are made for the warm golden glow of candles. Candlelight can be used to lighten up a dark corner, provide romance, decorate a holiday table and create a welcoming look to your home.
Part of the fun of decorating with candles is choosing a container. Using ordinary every day objects can be an inexpesive and fun way to display your candles. Look around your house for tea cups, muffin tins, clay flower pots, cake stands and old architectural salvage pieces like fence posts to name a few. One of my favorite ways is to use a hanging bird cage. Look for vintage reproduction metal ones at your favorite home decorating store.
Candles and bathroom are the perfect pairing. The flicker of the candle seems to bounce around the mirrors, tiles and water. No one wants to take a relaxing bath under the harsh glare of bathroom lighting. Rim your tub with with votive candles, place a few pillars on the bathroom vanity. If you use scented candles you are also provide aromatherapy.

Gift giving season is just around the corner. Candles make great gifts. You can personalize the gift by choosing scents you know the recepient loves. Gather candles, bath salts, bath pillow and a Do Not Disturb sign to hang on the bath door, place in a gift basket and you have the perfect gift.

8. And Penny, I’d pick “lavender” candles for the bedroom because that scent relaxes you and helps you sleep.

9. I love candles and they are a very inexpensive way to decorate . I rarely burn mine and if I do it would be great to burn a lavendar one in my bedroom but the color is the worse I love tans, greens, rust and,the many shades of brown or more simply put earth tones. Do you know of any lavendar scented candles that come in the many shades of the earth ? Help your idea is awesome but I have to have the right color
