wreath1I purchased two fall garlands from HomeGoods this season intending to drape them across my fireplace mantle. But after I put them up I felt they were a little too busy for the room and decided to repurpose them instead of storing them for next year.

I took both garlands, one with fall berries and one with pinecones and leaves, and wired them together to form a wreath. Next I added a simple harvest bow and a few strands of raffia to complete it. The entire project only cost about $20 and took just a few minutes of my time to create. I hope this inspires you to reuse an item you may already have in a unique way. Happy Fall!

1. Heather, what a fantastic idea. I have seen these garlands on the clearance shelf post-season and wished I needed them as they are often as low as $5.00. You’ve given me a great idea for how to repurpose them into lovely wreaths to give as gifts — thanks, joan

2. Hi Joan,
What a good idea to keep an eye out for them after season. And I never thought about giving them as gifts but I’m sure it would make a big impact on a small budget. Thanks for another great idea!
