Do you have holiday linens?  I don’t.  I love to multi purpose.  So I purchase basic white linens for my table settings.  I do love colorful dishes and dishes with patterns.  White makes the perfect backdrop for any style plate.  Now, plain old white can be boring.  So you need to jazz it up!  If you come up with a theme it is easy to set a Thanksgiving table.  Look around your home (outside too!) for decorating ideas.  How about a Harvest Table?  Gather some gourds, indian corn and candles in oranges, rusts and browns.  Spread them down the center of the table.  Then at each place setting tie a mini indian corn to the napkins with coordinating ribbon.

Like seasonal flowers on your table?  If you are using mums as your centerpiece, you can pinch a few off and nestle them underneath the ribbon around your napkin.   Add some silver candlesticks and colorful tapers and you have a wonderful seasonal look.  Using the colors of the season will certainly jazz up your table this Thanksgiving.

Now is the time to pull out your linen…is it ready for company?  Need a new tablecloth and napkins? Home Goods is a good place to find some wonderful linens at a great price.  And if you purchase white linens, you will be able to use them for Christmas too!  It will be here before you know it!

1. I am loving that brown plate. The cute little bow & flowers are a really nice touch too! You rock, Penny!

2. Cute idea with the corn Penny and I already have the perfect ribbon. What I really need is to repaint my Dining Room a more autumn color. It is presently ( and has been for about 9 years) a Waverly color called Terra Cotta, but it has a lot of pink in it and I lament my choice every Thanksgiving season. Maybe a nice maize or gold next year.

7. Hi Penny

I use a dark green linen tablecloth for almost all the holidays. Like your white linens it too can be dressed up for the occasion with seasonal accents. The nice part of the dark green is that stains don’t show up as easily!
