I have grown tired of this area rug. It has served its purpose, and is starting to show signs of wear and tear aound the edges. Also, the more I hear the girls here sharing their love for transitional decorating, I have decided that maybe I should expand my thinking, and change a few traditional items for transitional. So, I began my search.

The treasure hunt went on for weeks. That was okay with me, because like all good hunters I find pleasure in the hunt itself. I am always confident that as long as I continue the quest I will eventually find the item for which I am searching. The thrill of the find is well worth the time!

So while on another hunting excursion I did a flip through the rugs hanging on the back wall at HG, and there it was. The perfect size, stripes that included every color in my great room, and a lush soft shag. I am thrilled. I love the way it defines and fills the space, and updates the look.

Now, I am all set for my Thanksgiving gathering next week. I know many of us update our homes for holiday entertaining. I would love to hear about some of the changes you have made. If you would like to add a photo that would be great, too. So, enjoy the thrill of the hunt, and all of the preparations for your visits with family and friends in the coming weeks.

LOVE IT Do you LOVE IT?

1. Hi Deb,

I love your new area rug. It’s a much better size, and the transitional style looks good with your furnishings. I bet you and your husband are enjoying the new room. Now you’re set for the holidays. It’s always nice to make a few changes and this looks comfy and cozy.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family.

2. I love that striped rug! A few years ago I searched everywhere for an affordable striped rug for my sons room! That would’ve been perfect! Great job on the room makeover!

4. Thanks girls,

I appreciate your encouragement. One of the other things I love about this rug is that it’s soooo soft . . . the kind into which you wiiggle your toes. LOL

Thnaks again, and a Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
