Are you looking for a fun holiday project? I think there is something to be said for creating gifts and decorations by hand. Even if you are not a particularly crafty person or you feel you are short on time (ha, sounds like me!), having a simple project planned for over the holidays can be a great tradition to look forward to.
I ran across a few wreath projects over at Martha’s (Martha Stewart, that is) that I really like, I think I might try making my own wreath this year! Even though I am super busy, it just sounds fun to make something so pretty. I thought you might enjoying seeing the ideas.
I ADORE the moss wreath. Martha has a video on her website showing how to make it and I thought it looked simple enough. We have tons of moss around our house, but you can also buy it at flower markets.

These wreaths would be fun for the whole family to make together! A fluffy white wreath and a gumdrop wreath! Instructions can be found here and here at Martha Stewart. And wouldn’t a jingle bell one be delightful on a door!
Lastly, I wanted to tell you about another wreath at my house. It also would make a great DIY project. This one was made using all Christopher Radko ornaments that were BROKEN! While we were not the ones to break the ornaments or make the wreath, I thought it was such a great use of broken ornaments you would otherwise have to throw away! Simply fasten them with the good sides showing and no one will be the wiser! You could use ornaments or just about anything you could glue or wire on the frame!

Whatever projects you take on this holiday, make sure you really enjoy the experience! Sip some hot cocoa with marshmallows, maybe nibble on Christmas cookies or fudge (oh come on, live it up!), turn up the festive holiday tunes and have fun creating!
1. I want the silver bell wreath! I want about 10 of them.

2. I love to make my own Christmas wreaths. I find my inspiration from magazines and catalogues and then create my own version. I just started to drag my wreaths from years past out of storage and I’m deciding where to put them in the new house.

6. I just can’t decide which one I want to make! Maybe I need to try a few of them. I really like the idea of adding things you already have to an existing wreath to freshen it up….hmmmm….I’ll let you know if I get one started this week. I think it would be fun to make wreaths for a family night!

8. Those are really great wreaths. I especially like that white fluffy one, it looks like snow! I might make that with my kids over the Thanksgiving weekend, they would think it was a lot of fun to make our own wreath. Thanks for sharing the ideas!

10. Pam, I know, I’ve been guilty of tossing things without thinking through how I could reinvent them!
I’m always so proud of myself when I think of a creative use for something I almost tossed!
