I think there is something especially fun about reinventing what you have in your home. While anyone can go shopping and come home with “a seasonal decoration,” by creatively re-purposing what you have each season, you can easily have a unique and charming home year round. Reinventing ordinary things doesn’t have to be complicated.

Let’s take a look at some images for inspiration, shall we? The first photo shows how easy it is to turn a summer picnic basket into a pretty holiday decoration for your front porch. The silver tray in the second photo can work just as well in the warm months piled with seashells as it can at Christmas with ornaments and candles. And in the third photo, a trellis and a plant stand are easily transformed into a holiday card display and a bar for entertaining! And why not bring your outdoor garden accessories in for the winter where you can enjoy them? A birdbath can be a charming end table!

A glass bowl can be reinvented into a snowman bowl for holiday eggnog. And look how easy it is to take a beloved collection of dishes and transform the entire cabinet for Christmas! By adding a few green Christmas balls and some greenery, the cupboard is all dressed up for the holidays.

So, take a look around your house for ways to reinvent what you have!

And when you shop, keep your eye out for great basics for your home that will work all year round!

I’ve really enjoyed being at HomeGoods and sharing the inspiration I’ve found for a simple, creative and authentic holiday! I wish you all a memorable and beautiful season! You are all welcome to visit me anytime at The Inspired Room!

3. Thank for this refreshing post… reduce, reuse, and recycle are very important to me. While I am not opposed to adding to what I have occasionally, I simply don’t have the need to gather more. I also think it builds family memories to see our favorite decorations year after year.

You will be missed here, best wishes to you,
Dede

12. I like the idea of spending my money on flexible basics that I can dress up on the holidays than on just seasonal items.
