holiday table mix match
Are you having a holiday get together at your house this season? A Trim a Tree Party, Ice Skating Party, Cocktail Party or even a Formal Sit Down Dinner?

Now is the time to plan your party table settings. Do something special with your table. Create a beautiful holiday centerpiece, use festive dishes, make holiday place cards, put out the best silver and crystal, and have lots of candles ready. Make sure you have enough plates for each meal, get the spots off the glassware, and polish the silver.

If you find you need more place settings, or serving pieces, don’t feel you have to match your current pattern. Putting together a table with a few new pieces is easy. If you have patterned dishes, pick a color in the pattern and purchase some plain pieces to mix in. Likewise, if you have solid colored dishes, pick up some fun new patterns that include your solid color. Patterns work well with other patterns too, as long as they have the same color scheme.

Now your are ready to enjoy your party!

3. Great advice about adding new dishes in with existing ones. Solid with patterned or patterned with solid. I’ve seen that done in some magazines and the effect is quite charming. I also LOVE the effect of the one in the photo…pleasing to the eye and so whimsical.

4. Table setting is one of my favorite things to do. I love your rooster plates in this setting. I hope your dinner party is a big success - and lots of fun.

5. Pretty setting Penny. I have a collection of ruby glass (Arcoroc) dishes that I pull out this time of year to combine with my Blue Willow pattern. I always look forward to using the combo.

10. Hi Penny!

I’ve been on the lookout for some red or dark green dishes on discount in Home Goods to do the same thing. My everyday dishes are white with different fruits along the edges and I think solid color accessory plates would look nice with them, and if they are red or green I could also use them with my holiday dishes and again on Valentine’s Day and St Patrick’s Day!

Have a Merry Christmas!
