I’ve been thinking, which is good because I am usually talking. LOL I thought it might be fun for us to share some of our holiday traditions. We are already busy here sharing our thoughts about decorating and gifting, but I would love to hear some of your other traditions.
I would also like to hear from some of you who will be celebrating Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. I don’t know much about the traditions of those two holidays, and I would love to know more.
I went cyber hopping again and found some interesting ideas at All Things Christmas. They have an informative section on holiday traditions and their origins. This site includes almost everything you can think of for your December celebrations, including a countdown chart that made my heart beat faster just watching it and realizing all of the things I have to do.
Whew, time to settle down again, and remember my commitment to calm organization this year. Old habits die hard, don’t they?
So, here’s your place to share. Do you celebrate the twelve days of Christmas with one gift each day? Do you open gifts Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Do you celebrate Boxing Day? How do you exchange gifts that are unique to celebrating Hanukkah or Kwanzaa? What foods are must haves that go back to your family’s culture? My family changed our way of exchanging gifts last year, and we love our new tradition. You can read about it at, Counting My Blessings.
I love to learn about the customs followed by other families. Please share the traditions you practice each year, or think back to your childhood and share the ones which were followed by your parents and grandparents. I can’t wait to hear from you! Enjoy a wonderful and blessed season of celebration!
