tea and homegoods blog post 028I love winter time with all of the nesting it inspires in me. (Okay, truth be told, I actually only love it until December 26th each year, and then I am pretty much over the whole “shovel-the-drive-and-take-your-life-in-your-hands-walking-to-your-car” thing. Then I am ready for spring.) Seriously, the cold snowy days just make me want to make my home a haven for all who stop by, as well as for me and my dogs.

It’s all about the comforts of home. You know how we all feel comforted in the winter months by certain foods? Chili or chowder, or hot cocoa with lots of marshmallows? Or music? Amy Grant or Norah Jones and my all time fave Jack Johnson…that’s comfort music for sure. Or scented candles, adding the fragrance and glow to a room. Oh, and how about the idea of sitting by a roaring fire? It warms our hearts as well as our buns.

Well, I found a special little somethin’ that needs to be added to the comfort list.tea and homegoods blog post 041 I just surprised myself this past Tuesday with a special little early Christmas gift! (I know, I shouldn’t have! But, I’ve been good this year. Really good.) It’s an incredibly soft lap throw (take my word for it) to cover me up by the fire and matching slippers. (the kind you get to wear at fancy spas when you’re really being pampered) And it was a steal of a deal, so that made it a perfect gift.

Oh yes, these little babies are as comfy and snuggly as they look, people.  And, even better, the colors match my cottage decor exactly.

I say, let it snow!

5. Hi Tracey,

I’m soooooo with you on your winter philosophy! I’ve already had to carry ALL my groceries up the big, steep icy driveway once this week. And we’re supposed to get a bunch of snow tomorrow!

6. I’m drooling over your slippers! They looks so much more plush than mine. If the city wasn’t shut down by the snow, I’d be heading out to see if my TJ Maxx had any. Cross your fingers they have some after the roads clear!

7. That does look warm and snuggly. All you need is a cup of cocoa and some chocolate chip cookies.
