Presenting...the gift card

One of my favorite gifts to give and receive is a thoughtfully chosen gift card. But to make it fun to open, it’s important to find a creative way to present it.

I tucked this HomeGoods gift card under this little tree and I chose the word, “Joy” on the pot because I hope the recipient will get a lot of joy from shopping for additional accessories for their home. I think it presents the gift card well and shows the thought behind it, don’t you?

If you need help with creative ways to present your gift cards, here are a few ideas to get you started:

- Put a paper place mat in a box, glue on a paper plate, napkin, plastic fork and knife and tape your restaurant gift card to the center of it with a message, “Bon Appetite!”

- Attach a bookstore gift card to a fun bookmark or a fun book bag.

-Put a pedicure coupon inside a pair of toe socks with a “Love your Toes” tag

-Tie a Chinese take-out gift card to a pair of painted chopsticks

-A pass to the zoo could be tucked into the pouch of a stuffed Koala bear

- For the new driver, tape a gas card to a plastic emergency gas can

- Tuck a coffee card into a portable coffee mug

So, what other creative ideas have you used to present your gift cards?

2. Hi Joan,

Nothing better than gift cards! The size, color and price is right with them. That’s all I gave one year when I was pressed for time.
Love all your ideas for presenting them. For me, I couldn’t think of anything better than a HomeGoods card….the perfect gift!
Thanks for reminding me. I still have a few more to get.

3. Cathy: I was thinking of you today as I battled snow and ice and frigid temperatures running a few last errands. Lucky you to be able to zip out to Homegoods without a thought for whether you’ll make it home in one piece. LOL. Have a very merry christmas!!

4. Hi Annie,

At this time, HomeGoods does not offer a service of online shopping. We may however, in the future and suggest signing up for HomeGoods emails to keep you up to date with all the latest information regarding HomeGoods.

Thank you,

5. Hi Joan…….I’m literally just pausing from putting a ‘couples’ Christmas gift package together with gift cards. I have the cutiest, foot high tree pre-decorated vintage style with two gift cards to the bookshop and two tiny bottles of Baileys tied to branches as my ‘baubles’. Under the tree is a Christmas CD of soft music, decedant chocolate and a ever-so-sweet boxing of tiny, glass snowflakes. My little attached note to one of the boughs will read: Everything needed for a Silent Night–a good book, a nightcap, heavenly chocolate, soft music and Christmas s-n-o-w-f-l-a-k-e-s.

Of course……all will be wrapped up with love! :o)

Merry Christmas and thank you for all the amazing thoughts and ideas Joan.

God Bless,
Barbra

7. I was looking through all the blogs and saw this one. Great ideas. I had one for a movie theatre gift card. You can put the gift card inside of a DVD case and on the outside put a movie reel and the words Coming Soon to Theatres.

8. Hi Beth:
What a great idea and a good way to recycle those old DVD cases that a lot of us have after putting DVD’s into a binder. Thanks for sharing with us all. Christmas will be here again before we know it. LOL. In the meantime, this is a great b-day giftcard idea as well.
