Green Love!With Valentines Day on the horizon, our thoughts naturally turn to love. {sigh}

But let’s be practical for just a moment.  Did you know you can go green, save money and improve your life simultaneously?

As part of my 2009 new year’s resolutions, I’m going green(er).  To kick it off, I’ve started a list of super easy ways to go green.

I’m up to 11 ideas so far, and three of those fit this green/savings/love category:

  1. Lower the thermostat and put on a cozy sweater (or burrow under a throw).  Or better yet, just snuggle up with that someone special!
  2. Use energy efficient light bulbs, or better yet, turn off lights when not in use.  How about candlelight?  It’s like replacing an expense with ambiance!
  3. Lower the temperature of your water heater and/or install a low-flow shower head (option: shower with a friend, anyone?) ;)

This is a great time of year to pick up a pretty throw blankets, charming candle and candleholders and fun bath accessories. Just in time for Valentines Day!
