There’s nothing quite like the sight of decorative hand soap to turn me into a kid again. I can recall one set I was given as a child with 3 little lambs one pink, one white, and one blue. I adored handling those little carved soaps they were so smooth to touch and sweet smelling. Such bliss. (I hope all you Grandmothers out there have a collection of fun-shaped soaps for bath time at Grandma’s house.)

But now that I’m all grown up it’s mostly liquid hand soap for me — clean and simple and yes, still fun. Or at least it’s starting to get a lot more fun, have you noticed? I’ve started buying my liquid soap at HG not just because of the great price but because of the amazing selection. There’s always good choices, but if you hunt for a bit you sometimes get lucky and find something really great.

Like my latest find…

I was immediately drawn to the clear bottle with the silver top and black print– just perfect with my black granite and stainless steel in the kitchen. But when I read the quote, “One hand washes another”, well, it was that childlike lamb soap joy all over again. I mean, how great a quote is that on an otherwise “perfect” soap bottle? Oh, and the scent is white tea and ginseng. Sigh. Who says you can’t buy happiness?

Of course there were more that caught my eye. The foaming Mediterranean blue soap looks just like the ocean which makes me smile and it smells so fresh, the shower gel with the French vintage inspired label of those cute little kiddies is too adorable to pass up and the valentine themed soap will be so perfect in the bathroom for next month. ( click on the photos to see these great designs close up).

And the best part? When these run out there’ll be lots of new designs and scents to choose from.

Anyone else find soap shopping fun? Please, ‘fess up. I like to think I’m not the only woman out there who gets this much pleasure out of buying a new bottle of liquid soap!

2. I recently bought every bottle of liquid hand soap in the scent “Peapod” that “my” Home Goods had because I loved it so much! Just wish they had had the lotion to go with! I too love beautiful soaps – liquid and bars. Always on the look-out for them.

6. Hey, I found a huge bottle and a huge savings at HG and love it! . . . and my guest do to! Lavendar by Hotel Firenze. Tall, sleek, different shaped clear bottle, with silver pump. Perfect for my new remodeled bath

7. Oh, yes, I’ve seen that brand and it looks/smells lovely. Sadly I can’t persuade my husband to let me by anything lavender, but I’m glad someone gets to enjoy it!! Thanks for sharing your find.

8. Joan, to me Peapod smells like the “garden” somehow … just love that smell. Have a Williams-Sonoma tomato liquid soap & lotion from a year or so ago, it’s been discontinued. Love it so much that it is used sparingly as I will be seriously sad when it is all gone!!!

9. Ooh, Sandy, now I’m even more intrigued. I’m sure I’ll come across it in one of the many HG stores I frequent. We have lots of stores to choose from around here. Too bad about the tomato scent being discontinued. It’s always tough in a land of so much choice to find one of our favorite choices eliminated, isn’t it? Enjoy it while it lasts.
I just snagged a “gardenia and white peach” liquid soap which my husband thinks is a bit “flowery” but it really is a fantastic smell. Oh and if you liked any of the Christmas scents like bayberry or hollyberry etc. check out the clearance sections. They were practically giving those holiday soaps away. Stop by again,

10. At 49 years old, I am proud to say I have graduated from little animals soaps to rosebuds or seashells, but I am still in the game!
