I try to go walking in my neighborhood almost every day (trying to make good on a new years resolution, so far, so good, but it’s only been a month so…). It’s great to get outside for a while, no matter how busy you are. It seems to relax and energize all at the same time. So today, camera in hand, I was off to see what was happening in the ‘hood. With Valentines Day approaching, there was no shortage of proclamations of love billowing in the air or decorating a door. I love to see… people displaying holiday decorations
with such enthusiasm ( somehow, it gives me hope for a better tomorrow, when I’m out walking again :).
I was also thinking about the loving gestures our family and friends do for us all the time, just things you can’t buy, but mean so much to us. What better time than Valentines Day to recall a few…better yet, do a few for them.
A loving gesture is…
When they give up their own closet space so you’ll have more.
- When they give you their car when yours doesn’t start.
- When they come to your rescue during a computer glitch.
When they give you the biggest piece of the dessert.
- When they say everything’s going to be alright, when you see no hope.
- When they let you have the last slice of pizza.
- When they pick you up from the airport when no one else will.
When they go shopping with you rather than do something they wanted to do.
- When they go to the drug store at midnight to get you medicine.
- When they let you decorate the house the way you want, not necessarily what they want.
When they call you to let you know they’re OK, if out too long.
- When they call to say, “Hi, I was just thinking about you…”

Can you add to the list? What are some things people do to show their love for you?
Love to hear, even silly things sometimes mean the most.
Have great Valentines Day and show your love in a big way!
1. When they are there in the quiet moments.
When they go to the movies and you want to go.
When they have a BIG HUG ready for you just when you need it or not.

2. Oh Cathy, good list. you sound like you have a sweet hubby like mine. So yeah, when he fills the car up with gas for me, when he fills my hot water bottle, and when he tells me sincerely that I look beautiful on a day I clearly don’t look or feel it.

3. Some GREAT additions Christine. It’s great to reflect on how much people really care about us. I hope they can say the same about us.
Thanks for commenting. Happy Hearts Day!
