I am in recovery from overcoming a problem with procrastination. In the past, most of my projects have been completed just as their deadlines approached. I was one of those students who pulled all-nighters to finish papers, and crammed for exams. So, it is no wonder that I have mastered the art of last minute gifts.
Are you ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day tomorrow, or are you scrambling for last minute ideas. If you are still trying to make your final decisions you are not alone. I ran into a store to run an errand earlier today, and it was impossible to get down the greeting card aisle, or near the row of candy.
I am here to give you some last minute tips for tomorrow that won’t break the bank and will work any time you want to let someone special know how much they mean to you.
We all love a delicious box of chocolates, a dozen roses, a bottle of wine, and a beautiful card . . . but what if you feel like you “been there/done that!” Keep reading for a list of easy, inexpensive ideas to make those you love feel treasured.
- A framed photo of the two of you together.
- A framed photo of your favorite romantic place to getaway (ask them to guess where).
- A framed list of the things you love about them; it can be typed and printed in a beautiful font, or if you know calligraphy make it by hand.
- A list of memories, one for each year you have been together; write it in a journal or once again put it in a frame.
- A coupon book of gifts; an errand run, a back rub, a chore done, an afternoon of your undivided attention, a favorite meal or dessert, even a nag free day
, etc.
- Get a box of children’s Valentine Cards, fill them out and hide them throughout the house.
- Download your song and other favorite romantic music to a CD or iPod.
- If it is early in your relationship or even if it’s not; start a scrapbook of photos and begin your memory book.
- Decorate a small bulletin board with hearts and ribbon, add love notes and your favorite photos.
- Purchase a nice pen and note cards with a love note written on the first card.
I’m sure that you can make this list much longer, so please add your thoughts. Just remember that little tokens of love are great all year long not just on Valentine’s Day!
1. These are great ideas Deb,
They don’t have to be just for Valentines Day but any day. Love your flowers, I got some from Hubby too. They spoil us good. We love it.
I’ll try to think of some ideas to add to the list, you’ve got some good ones.
Take Care,

2. Cathy, I agree they do work any time. Yes, I’ll admit I love a little spoiling.
It is so nice to get a little something that shows we are loved no matter the time or the day! Thanks! Have a wonderful day!!
