I know that technically we are a month away from the official kick off of Spring. Like years past however, we have already had a few warm days here in the middle of the country. Once that happens my thoughts go to flowers, Spring cleaning, and packing away the jewel tone accessories and replacing them with pastels.
In the process I have been searching the www. to find ideas for a few changes that won’t wreak havoc with the bank account, but will freshen things for the change of seasons. I found a couple of sites that I would like to share with you.
The first site is: My Home Ideas. This site has become one of my new favorites. I visit almost everyday. It is sponsored by my favorite magazines, you know, the “Living” mags. The above link is to the Color Assistant page. It is amazing! It allows you to select a room, then a photo, and finally try out almost any wall color you can imagine. I could have spent hours trying out different combinations!
Another page I enjoyed was Tips for Redecorating in Minutes, which included eleven pages of quick easy changes to update the look of any room. You will also find a Design Assistant section, a How To link, and a Budget Style area. Like I said, I have found myself at My Home Ideas almost everyday!
Another site I found happened through stumbling. If you are not familiar with StumbleUpon go over and check it out. After downloading a toolbar, and selecting your favorite topics; StumbleUpon will randomly select websites for you to check out. If you like them give them a thumb’s up, if not . . . well you know.
House of Turquoise is a website maintained by Erin. She searches the web for decorating ideas which incorporate her favorite color, turquoise. The photos on her site are beautiful and filled with great ideas. She also does a great job at linking back to her sources for further research. The photo at the right linked back to a site called House to Home, another site hosted by several decorating magazines.
So, the next time you find yourself with some free time, I know what’s that, check out the above links. You will find many fresh ideas to prepare for a pastel Spring.

3. For Spring, I begin by bringing branches in and forcing them to show me hope. I love green and adding freshness.

We were able to open our windows for a bit yesterday, so we may be getting there. Thanks for your thoughts.

I’m usually pretty busy so my place i just moved into a couple months ago is literally very empty with all these white walls and little time to decorate!
I’m going to take these fabulous suggestions in mind. Thanks for the great ideas. Have a lovely day!!!

6. Hi Hana,
There is something very exciting about a new home. If you are like me; I find the process of a blank slate both stressful and wonderful. I enjoy putting my creative side to work, but knowing my decisions will be in place for at least a while makes me nervous.
I’m so glad you liked the suggestions and the websites filled with ideas. Enjoy! Then let us know about the finished product.
Thanks! You enjoy a lovely day as well.
