I have this thing about Roosters. My decorating style is French Country Cottage. I love toile, transferware and Roosters! It seems I have gathered quite a collection of them. I have rooster statues, rooster pillows, rooster pictures, rooster glasses and more.

Have you ever started liking some decorative item and not been able to stop being attracted to it? What is your decorating addiction? I would really love to know. Leave a comment and add a picture of your collection if you have one! Remember, you can click on any picture to enlarge for detail.
1. Nooo, not that I can think of…old books maybe, nests possibly…
It’s always fun to see someone’s collections. You have lots of wonderful roosters.

2. I am in the process of switching my country kitchen to more of an upscale French Country look, so I would love to see more pics of yours! I am using some rooster paintings, a small chandy, a rooster lamp, etc. I adore your rooster!

3. Hi Penny! I’ve been crazy about urns. I really heart them! But I do love roosters too! I have about 3 of those at home. One is from Portugal and if you place his “tale” facing the entryway door will keep bad thoughts from others out of you home. Funny huh? Have a great day!

4. I loved this Penny! I too adore roosters, large and small!
They look so good in so many places and just add so much to a room.
I have had to whittle down my collections since moving here but I still love them. Blue and white, roosters, plates, old and new…
rabbits, teddy bears, lamps. Lamps are a particular weakness of mine!
Thank you for these articles Penny! I enjoy then so much!

5. I could easily become a rooster collector, but I’ve collected far too many things over the years that I’ve had to part with, so I’m not going there on this one!
Now I ask myself, “Where are you going to put or store this?!?”. Sometimes the object of my desire has to ride around in the cart for awhile before I make that final decision on buying it or taking it back out of the cart.
Great Home Goods score! My neighbor & I trekked out to Home Goods in Gilroy CA yesterday where I found the most divine soup tureen with a ladle and plate for $12.99!!! It’s white and has a leaf design on it. Once Easter decorations are put away, it will reside in the dining room. I was so jazzed! In fact, I thought I had misread the tag & asked my friend to check out the price! Good one, huh?!?

8. My husband has this thing about roosters and apples because he’s from Lousiana..They are only allowed in the kitchen.. My style is a very traditional-soulful home. So, in order to keep him happy, i bought funky roosters and decorated our “apple wallpaper” red apples, green apples, black background. My friends really dig it.. and so do I. It gives the kitchen a funky vibe.

11. I too am a rooster collector for my kitchen and a rabbit/bunny collector for my dining room. I cannot get enough and my family knows it so I get lots of stuff, however, I have never seen the rooster glasses you have pictured. Where can I find them?

12. Roosters. I too am a collector. Mine range from hand carved wood to metal and a couple I made myself. My favorite however is my 3 foot high copper weather vane. It was on my shed before I moved but now I don’t have a shed so it sits in my living room in all it’s glory. My collection is from the kitchen to the dining room to the living room. I don’t have any in the bedrooms or bathrooms- well not yet anyway. My dining room in NJ was all country style with barn board shelves and wallpapered in barn board design and yes roosters. It started with a Warren Kimball picture I saw and it took off from there. I also found out that I was born in the Chinese year of the Rooster. The files I have of the pictures are too large for this program. The picture I am showing is really small because I could not delete it. If you would like to se some of the pictures give me an email address and I will send them to you.

13. Hi. I was so excited to read about another person so taken by roosters. I thought it was just my brother is law…
My sister and husband moved to an appartment after many years in a large home in which they have collected about 1000 (Yes, One thousand)nroosters from every possible material.
Would you know who would be interested?
Thanks

14. Cows but only black and white. My late father even made me a book shelf for my cook books with cows on either end. It is a sentimental favorite.

15. I too am a “Rooster addict”! I just love them. I have too many to count, and just today returned from my Home Goods store with three more. A paper towel holder, a wooden serving tray with rooster head, and a decorative rooster box My favorite, is one I found while on vacation out in Arizona. It is the cutest wood carved and painted Rooster, and he is wearing a pair of felt cowboy boots!! What fun!

16. I bought the cutest rooster plates, bowls, and mugs at our Marshall’s store. The plates are white with a large rooster (red, yellow, blue, and green) in the center. There is a green rim and six smaller roosters–identical to the one in the middle all around the inside of the green band on the rim. I bought these about a year to a year and a half ago and I have been looking for them ever since when I go to a Marshall’s out of town. I would love to have more. Could you help with this? On the back of the plate is imprinted the words bone china—Royale Garden Staffordshire England–Made in India—I absolutely love these dishes!
