When my sister and I get together, we have a great time. She was visiting for a few days from Missouri, I live in southern California. We had a chance to escape our busy lives for a few days and soak in the local color, and color there was!

We love to visit places that elicit “ooos and ahhhs”. Mostly places ladies gravitate to  (no kids or husbands to get cranky and bored). We enjoy the same things, so we tour quaint beach cities, smile in speciality boutiques and shops, dream in designer floral gardens, have fun in flea markets, and are happy in HomeGoods, (she has one in her area but it’s a ways away.) We love to lunch “alfresco”, and people watch, while hunting down, mostly visual treasure.

Everywhere we went, spring and Easter dotted the landscape and shops. The “ohhh, look at this’s” were becoming redundant but well deserved. There were so many beautiful things to see and do.

We thought you’d like to come along and see a few “springy thingy’s” with us. The more the merrier. Get out your walking shoes, sunglasses, camera and bottle of water. Warning, we talk and laugh alot.  Enjoy!

Are you cranky and bored yet?

Isn’t it fun to get away for a little while, even if it’s in your own backyard. Spring comes and goes fast and if you don’t take the time to drink in the daffodils, tip toe through the tulips, or lust over lillies, they will be gone for another year. This spectacular springtime extravaganza  is produced courtesy of Mother Nature and admission is free for those that have eyes to see. Grab a sibbling, a friend, or go by yourself and revel in the riches of the season. It’s great for body, mind and soul!

(I miss you sis!)

Any thoughts?

Happy Easter, Happy Spring!

2. Hey Jul,

We had great fun didn’t we!! So glad you were able to take a break and come out and run around with me. There’s always lot’s of trouble we can get into, lol. Enjoy your birdhouse, add it to your collection and watch and enjoy those bulbs popping through the ground. Nothing like spring to add some excitement in the air. You’re the best!

3. What a delightful commentary. I too live in Southern California (Long Beach) and have just discovered HomeGoods nearby. Since we’re doing some redecorating, I have been spending a lot of time there and finding great treasurers.

Reading your blog I began to miss my sister who has moved out of the area and is now living in Seattle. I miss those wonderful days of “hanging out” with her and enjoying the beautiful climate, the Pacific Ocean, and shopping, shopping, shopping! I think I’ll give her a call. Friends are great, but none can replace a sister.

Thank you.

4. Thank you so much Barbara from Long Beach,
You’re right up PCH from me…beautiful area!

You’re right about sisters. It’s great to see them when we can. Your sister sounds as wonderful as mine. I hope you had a nice chat with her.
Yes, were pretty spoiled living in this beautiful area along the Pacific. I’m always awed by the beauty of nature and try not to ever take it for granted.
I hope you can get together with your sis soon and do some serious shopping…or at least serious looking, sometimes that’s the most memorable.
Thanks for taking the time to chat, write back soon.
