easter basketI’m a practical mom.  Not sure if that’s good or bad, but I’ve decided to tweak a few elements in my kids’ Easter baskets this year (I sure hope they’re not reading this!).

Rather than plastic grass which leaves quite a mess, I found some super inexpensive fleece baby blankets.  They love wrapping stuffed animals in blankets, so they’ll have something to use for their new stuffed bunnies (a tradition I dare not mess with).

Instead of a rainbow colored basket, or any other cutsie container, I’m opting for a simple terracotta planter.  I have some I had painted in the past (which they haven’t seen), but I think I’ll go pick up some plain ones that they can paint themselves, and I’ll include flower seeds so they can actually grow something after they eat all the candy and chocolate bunny (another untouched tradition).

Now as far as coloring eggs go…well, it can’t be any worse than last year when I failed to cook the eggs all the way through (bad mommy!).

What traditions do you have for your Easter baskets?  And most importantly, do prefer hollow or solid chocolate bunnies? Dark or milk chocolate? Peeps or no Peeps, and Lily’s or Tulips?

As for me?  Solid, Dark Chocolate, Peeps, and Tulips.
