I was visiting my folks over Easter holidays and we decided it was time to take their blah bedroom and brighten it up a little. They have lived with your basic white walls for the past 10 years so we began this transformation with a gallon of paint. If you are enjoying this glimpse of the “after” picture here, just wait until you see the “before”
Being seniors, they had some challenges such as the addition of a hospital bed in the room. We also didn’t want to make any changes to the footprint of the room since they know their way around in the dark and that is important to prevent falls in the night. They were also working on a small budget.

The walls were painted in Benjamin Moore’s Kittery Green and we left the white trim as is. Next we added some new bedding and curtains. We borrowed smaller lamps from another room for the bedside tables and re-arranged some of the pictures on the walls. Overnight their bedroom went from blah to bright and beautiful.
Isn’t it amazing how just adding some color completely transformed this room?
Sweet dreams Mom and Dad!!
1. WOW!!!! The finished room looks great. I was lucky enough to see it while it was being painted, but the bedding and curtains certainly help to pop the colour. Great job!

5. Joan, the room looks beautiful. The closet doors and white woodwork really show nicely with the beautiful soft green walls. Very calming and fresh. It all blends so nicely with the wood furniture color too. I love the shade of green. Your parents are Blessed to have you!!!
